Has Newegg blocked double the order on your credit/debit account?

I ordered an item from Newegg this week. They only charged for the ordered item, but they blocked twice the funds in my checking account, on a Holiday week.

It is the weekend and the $130 block is still unavailable for use.

Early this week, I contacted newegg and got a response that was obviously a response to nothing I had inquired about. Surely there is a rule about blocking funds on an order.

This is one of the main reasons I tell people to never use debit cards. Use credit cards instead.

If a merchant makes a mistake with a debit card, you are out your money until you get it settled.

If a merchant makes the same mistake with a credit card, you do not have to pay that portion of the bill until the dispute is resolved.

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
