As I was reviewing the “Ask the Community” area on deals.woot, I saw that you asked a question that did not receive a “meta” or “chat” tag when it was reviewed by our moderators. The ATC area on deals.woot is an excellent place to find out what other community members think about products or services that you might be considering.

I placed I coupon on your account that is valid across all Woot properties except deals.woot and local.woot.

Pretty Awesome!!! That makes three $5 coupons that I currently have. I need to use one soon though...

so I don’t even understand why I got the coupon ? I’m totally happy to use it ... though twist of fate 4 hours after I order something I get sent a coupon... I assume I was supposed to receive a tag on my question and didn’t ?

@atd15: ;-) I've often wondered why someone 'announces' their coupons (& gifts). For those who received them, they know about it. For those who didn't...we'll get the proverbial "How do I get a coupon?" questions. Over & over again each month. Guess that's okay. I can skip over these types of questions. No one's twisting my arm, eh? DO wish that the 'question' part of the rep algorithm would be eliminated.

They both came with a coupon code, which got me very excited, but it was the same code in both e-mails.I I DO appreciate the gift, and will be sure to use it soon!

@conanthelibrarian: This means you will have two codes. The system will recognize that there are two, but you just won't be able to stack them. I always think of it as free shipping.

@jumbowoot: I have 5 emails and they all funnel to one gmail account (theoretically). Is there somewhere users can log in and see their active coupon codes? I did not get an email the last coupon code extravaganza (I assumed I just wasn't good enough) but maybe actually have a active codes!

Argh, looks like the couple questions I asked in April both got a "chat" tag, although my older question from March did not. And my last deals were from late March and early May, respectively. Looks like I didn't meet either criteria. Oooooooh, well. Next time, Gadget!

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?

See, we do a lot of stuff with your vote, using it to work out the popularity of what you voted for, compare that to all the other things voted on, tally up our leaderboard, work out your reputation.
