When deals.woot launched, one of my questions / bragging posts was me asking where I could get a good deal on a racing wheel stand. One arrived at my house today. I didn't order one, and I didn't really tell anyone else about it. No gift message, no indication who it was from except there was a phone number. And a google search of that number shows that it belongs to Woot. Yep, the fine folks @ Woot, Inc. noticed that I wanted a wheel stand and rewarded me with a Wheel Stand Pro. Thanks fgarriel for all your help during the beta. This was a request from the deals.woot ops team (jsjohnson and crew) and certainly an easy thing to agree with immediately.
I hope that we can carve out time for things like this regularly - it's so easy to be moving too fast that you miss whats important. (wait a second.. dslr camera? range rover? .. run away!)
Thats the kind of stuff that sets Woot apart!!! You can't tell me of another company that would do something like that... If you can let me know and I will go let them know what I want right away!

@snapster: I also appreciate that feedback was taken seriously. I've been on the development/QA side of too many beta tests that completely ignored customer feedback. More often than not, a beta test is a way to get some shoddy product out the door without proper testing.
For those not in software development, denying and delaying features is still taking feedback seriously. Things like architecture, time-to-market, development costs, marketing, and UI design all have interests in the process. What ultimately makes it to the end user is a negotiation of those considerations. What's important is that the feedback is heard and acknowledged with a reasonable explanation; but as a beta tester, you can't always be privy to those reasons. Woot staff did a good job sharing what they could and assuring testers that their voices & opinions were heard.

@fgarriel: I also felt that the woot staff cared about the issues I brought up (sometimes asked about earlier by someone else), with decorum.
I also had a lot of fun with the other users out there discussing things and even helping out the green boxers and all of the new wooters to this site.

between the great customer service & customer experience, and touching stories like these - it really is what sets woot apart from other retailers. Notice i didn't even bring up the deals - that's lower on my list of priorities than the integrity of a company, and its SO refreshing to see a business re-capture the human aspect of things... though the deals do tend to be very good!

@everyone saying "know where I can find" some ridiculous thing: it was funny the first time. Since then: not so much.
I dont want anything, but have tons of thanks to give this year for all the value woot has brought to us! It seems like fate- every time we are looking for a thoughtful gift for someone, Woot comes through for us.
