I'll start.
Music... I don't really have one. I like all kinds of music, and most that know me don't find it very odd (although some of my less enlightened friends jibe me for liking Opera...).
Movies... This one is bad. VERY bad. I like... The Spice Girls Movie. They were HOT. I had a crush on the blonde one... The movie is NOT. That. Bad. :)
Your turn!
Read it. Found the entire series fascinating!
If you don't know what I am talking about, you just might be missing out.
Sometimes, if I don't have a book on CD, I will listen to Radio Disney. Sure its for kids, but the songs usually have an interesting beat, everything is very happy and positive, and I don't listen to it often enough to be bored by the same songs over and over again.
Music: Celtic Thunder - I realize this is a massive shock for you all. But I really like them, it is the only Celticy music I will listen to voluntarily. Otherwise you wouldn't catch me listening to someone playing the bagpipes or the Bodhran.
Movies: Anything with Russel Crowe in it, I own almost every single one of his earliest movies. Although I will claim I own them for research purposes.
Misc: Vampire books - NOT Twilight, I can't stomach teenage angst. But I have read a lot of the more adult ones.
@sgoman5674: "Read It"?
@wootfast: Yeah: http://www.amazon.com/Guilty-Pleasures-Anita-Vampire-Hunter/dp/0425197549/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1282581055&sr=8-1
The beginning of the series is really good and revolves around horror. About Midway through, it starts to include sex, then gets very heavy with it. I stopped liking it at that point. Just recently, it started to make its way back.
Music: The Aquabats, phenomenauts, groovie ghoulies and Iron Horse are my Guilty pleasure music.
Movies: Anything by Kevin Smith or based on a comic book/graphic novel
Misc: I love guns, I like to shoot and collect firearms - They are my pokemon "gotta collect em all!"
@hobbit: Try some off Celtic music: ashley macisaac's Album "Hi how are you today", THe Wicked Tinkers, Mollys revenge or more punk bands like Dropkick Murphys or The Pogues
Misc - I carry my DS with me everywhere and purchase every new Pokemon game as soon as they come out (waiting for Black and White versions coming out next spring).
One son still plays the games the other son looks at me and says I should grow up but if I did, he would not be playing on my Starcraft 2 as I type this.
Music: I've seen the movie Cars a ton of times (I have a 3 year old boy in love with it), I'm going to buy the sound track with my next iTunes gift card (for myself) :-p
Movies: Mars Attacks! I get sooo much flak for liking this movie.
Misc. Harry Potter (although I'm far from alone here), my wife got the Twilight series on audiobook - I listened to it all (don't like it but don't hate it), and I think the Curious George animated series on ETV is one of the top 10 shows on television.
@renratca: I have I don't like that stuff. Trust me. The Pogues aren't Celtic Music they are alternative, I have listened to them since I was in college.
My favorite musical is "Rocky Horror Picture Show". I own the soundtrack and have been to one of those midnight showings of it where everybody dresses up in drag. And for those of you who are wondering, yes I did dress up.
In my circles everyone listens to the same music. I can't stand it and I let everyone know. Most people I know look at me flabbergasted as to how I abhor the music. I look at them with disgust and explain to them that what they listen to isn't music.
@sgoman5674: they used to show it in college. It doesn't seem to be such a big thing down here in the South OR I am just too old to be going now.
@hobbit: You're too old? Heck, I'm too old for it!
@sgoman5674: I doubt that. Although it does seem suited more for the college kids than adults now, I remember when it first came out my mom went to see it - she doesn't know I have seen it a dozen times - it is the dark side that she doesn't know about.
Well, this is going to get me in a lot of trouble, but here it is. I seldom have guilt about anything. I apologize for almost none of my likes or dislikes, and it's a wide range for both. Sometimes I abuse poor @shawnmiller too much, but it's certainly not what I'd call a guilty pleasure; more of a regret than anything.
I love the stunningly moronic haven for the full deck of has beens that is the Smoking Gun: World's Dumbest [fill in the blank] on TruTV. I have no guilt for it, though. Ever wonder what happened to Tanya Harding? How about Leif Garrett, or Todd Bridges, or Daniel Baldwin? Yep. They're all on this show as commentators. There's even Danny Bonaduce, star of stage and screen, and... Okay, maybe not a star, but not really a has been, more of a used to be bigger...

Nope. There is no guilt whatsoever. I love this show.
OK, lets try posting this in the correct thread.
I spend hours a day hanging out on a deals web site, buying things I don't need and commenting on deals I am not going to buy just cause its fun.
@sgoman5674: Is it wrong to find Tim Curry strangely attractive in that movie?
First and only bodice ripper/hysterical romance I ever read I fell in love with: Kathleen Woodiwiss' "The Wolf and the Dove"
"Celebrity Ghost Stories" It's like watching a train wreck.
Knowing all the words to every song in "The Sound of Music," "South Pacific" and "My Fair Lady." And singling along. Quietly. To my self. And Quite badly, I might add.
@lavikinga: Have you ever gone to a show? They throw things, so don't go with your hubby. ;)
@sgoman5674: I went when I was but a wee lass when it first came out. It wasn't easy convincing dear old Dad to drop me and my girlfriend at the Midnight Showing and pick us up either. Cindy some how set herself on fire and I ended up with a cold. Can I tell you how uncomfortable it is to be soaking wet in an icy cold movie theater?
Just hanging out of deals.woot ... is there really anything else?
@lavikinga: I sort of want to take a co worker, but she has never been and I know she will A) fight with me about not wanting to sit on the aisle, B) want to drag me up to the stage when she is supposed go, I forget when that might be and THEN she will SHARE She is already wide open, this movie will just be too much for me to handle with her.
@hobbit: When I went for the first time, there were too many first-timers so it wasn't done.
My freshman year in college two girls came by at midnight. I was out but my room mate was there. When he opened the door he almost had a heart attack. He told me about it later and we both had a good laugh.
@sgoman5674: I love the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Saw it on TV a couple times, went to a live performance at the theater, and a showing of the movie at a movie theater. I didn't dress up as any character, but completely enjoyed it every time!
Well, since I'm avoiding work, and it's been a shockingly LONG day already...
My daughter used to have the role of the Blue Trannie, and was the understudy for Janet (which she played a few times) at the NuArt on Santa Monica, oh, so very long ago. I used to drop her off at around 11PM every Saturday (and sometimes Friday) night. It's one of the longest running Rocky's, and I believe that (even though I'm sure most of the faces have changed over and over) it's also one of the longest continuous casts.
I went a few times, but I'd rather be at home, messing with computers, than in a theater with a bunch of people, no matter how amusing they might be.
@lavikinga: I saw that. You CAN'T enjoy RHPS without seeing it in the theater. Not the same. Not not not the same. Heathen.
@faughtey: I think I enjoyed it most while watching it from my bed. I knew I was going to stay warm and dry and could get up to pee without having to stand in line, or missing the movie.
I think I need to go tell some kids to get off of my lawn!
Who let the dogs out?
(not the song, just a sincere question :)
@wootfast: Dogs of War?
Guilty but boring pleasure is watching JTV, and eating Dove chocolates while I play bridge on my computer. I love being mindless, and it is better with the sound off.
i really love me some crap. can't help it, but not actually ashamed...
TV: Project Runway & Top Chef (OB sessed. might knock you out of the way to watch the next episode...)
MUSIC: Bad pop crap from Britney, Destiny's Child, etc. Also make fun of myself for loving bad bad bad 80's hair band music even though I'm a bit young for loving the decade.
MOVIES: I love a good (bad) 90's teen movie - Mean Girls is a super fav, even though I'm too old to like them.
HEALTH: Cigarettes (I've smoked, hated that I smoke, quit, come back, quit, come back. overall, i freaking love the "stop and take time for yourself" thing that smoking involves. it's awful, I KNOW.)
TECH DEALS: I am SO the person to buy things I don't need that are tech related and are a "GREAT DEAL!" I may not need one (ever), but you put a cheap price tag on it & it is tech related and I'm totally in.
@sgoman5674: I have thrown the toast.
movies: vin diesel
music: lady gaga (i even sing along in the car)
misc: the occasional romance novel (when i really really need a happy ending). :)
@shrdlu: Right there with you! I love TSG Presents: World's Dumbest _. While it does inspire the occasional cringe, (especially some of the World's Dumbest Partiers), it is just about guaranteed to make me laugh out loud at least a few times per episode.
voting for ohcheri deals so people keep complaining
@wadekind: Now that is just evil. snicker, snicker
Oooh this looks like fun:
Music: Aqua
Movies: Matthew McConaughey movies
Miscellany: My Lazy-Boy recliner
i would like to take a moment to confess my guilty pleasures:
music: ricky skaggs (for those of you who do not know,he is a well known blue-grass performer. i grew up listening to him thanks to my late-grandfather and he being very good friends)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8TrzlFVfcc
movie: bring it on & clueless (i HATE girlie movies, but for some reason i really love these two. if either of these are on TV i must stop and watch them... it is kinda sad really.)
miscellany: napping (dear god i love napping! there is nothing better than snuggling up with the kittehs on the couch and napping)
@shrdlu: Thanks for the link to TGS, it is hilarious. Now something else to watch on the computer.
@wootiewooterson, so true about naps with the kittehs. Of course, mine don't actually sleep on the couch, I sleep on the couch and they sleep on top of me.
