Perhaps I'm just old and cynical, but it amuses me to see a question about how to clean Uggs coming from a brand new Woot! user, then to see a helpful answer from another brand new user, on the very same day there's a sponsored ad for an Ugg clearance sale.

I am a fan of Emu, you can get them at 6pm for 1/3 the cost of UGG. Just saying. I do have to concur this is an odd question/response for deals.

@magic cave: hmmm...There is no Sponsored Deal for Ugg boots. The ad you see right there (points to the right) is a Google Ad. It is targeted. You are on a thread about Ugg Boots, if there is an Ugg ad to serve, Google will most likely serve the Ugg ad. If this were a Nike thread, you would probably see a Nike ad.

Just for fun, would you like me to change the word Ugg in the title and tags to Nike? :)

@magic cave: For the record, we do have our eye on those two. :)

@jumbowoot: Thank you for your reply. Coincidences abound daily, mostly unnoticed, so I guess this could be one. All told, though, two brand new Wooters asking and answering as they did is still odd to me.

@uggmama: I notice you're new to deals.woot.com -- welcome!

The comments you are responding to were written between 12 and 9 months ago! When you run across a deal or a question of interest, please take time to see when the original posting was made before replying. Very few folks are interested in old topics.

Happy holidays to you!

One reason ugg boots look and feel wonderful is the sheepskin used to make each pair. Sheepskin is a material that should be cleaned gently. Ugg boots should never be put in a washing machine or a dryer. Hand-wash your ugg boots in a warm water, using an approved wool detergent. You can use a soft brush for scrapping. To dry, place your uggs in the shade, away from heat or direct sunlight and allow drying out slowly to retain the soft, supple finish. Sheepskin footwear does shrink slightly after drying out, but will get back to normal after just a few wears. Once the boot is dry, lightly brush the cleaned area with a suede or nubuck brush. Brush in one direction only. If you follow these directions, your ugg boots will look fantastic for years to come.

you can use Care Products,such as Sheepskin Cleaner & Conditioner and Sheepskin Stain & Water Repellent
Hand wash only. DO NOT use a washing machine.
Moisten sheepskin footwear with clean, cold water.
Dilute Cleaner & Conditioner with equal proportions water and Cleaner and Conditioner. DO NOT APPLY CLEANER and CONDITIONER DIRECTLY ONTO SHEEPSKIN FOOTWEAR.
Apply a small amount of diluted Cleaner & Conditioner solution to a clean wet sponge. DO NOT apply Cleaner & Conditioner directly onto footwear.
Gently scrub to clean entire area. Sheepskin has a delicate surface, which can be damaged if scrubbed aggressively, or with an undiluted concentration.
Rinse clean in clean, cold water; lightly stuff with paper to hold shape; allow to dry naturally and slowly. DO NOT dry in direct heat or sunlight.
Once footwear is dry, lightly brush with a very soft suede/nubuck brush in one direction only.
