How many upvotes can a single question gather in 24 hours?
Just a test of the question upvotes. I'm just a little curious to see how many people I can get to upvote this question for no reason at all in the first 24 hours.
If you believe it, over 400 could be achieved, as seen here with second being 220 and third 195.
I upvoted for no reason.
Thanks @potter412 that's the idea.
Is this like a Tootsie Pop question that will never be anwered?
The real question is... How many downvotes can be achieved?...I bet that would be more than Up.
Not worried about your rep? give it a try!
@morriea: Actually, no. The highest amount of down votes is 79, giving the question a -78 score. See? People here on deals are more positive than negative
@captainsuperdawg: but was the questioner ASKING for downvotes for no reason?
That is my point....
@thunderthighs: yes it IS like a tootsie pop
@morriea: it seems my goal is being achieved, this question DID get more downvotes than upvotes... but we are only about halfway through the "24 hour" period I stated in the question.
@captiansuperdawg: It is reassuring to know that people tend to be more positive than negative.
I am still suprised at the sheer low quanity of votes though... oh well...
Technically I'd say somewhere upwards of 97K - total number of members. Likelihood of that happening, probably somewhere in the neighborhood of a lightning strike.
@thunderthighs: Does that mean someone will bite it before it happens?
You'll apparently never know the maximum. The number of views might be more relevant.
@jsimsace: you are likely correct. Views are more important than votes in this case, and anyway, the 24 hour period has expired and we have a -6 total. Not anywhere near where I expected, but now I know.
