This again?
WHAT COULD GO WRONG?
My guess is it is probably going to be something like shirts.woot.com/offers/woot-a-geddon or something similar
I'll check in later. Not for the trading cards - just to say hi to all of you wonderful people.
Dang, I love these things. And no bag at the end! It's all for the pure joy of the woot, and maybe a t-shirt.
In case you're wondering, @Inkycat posted:
"Reminder: There is absolutely no Bag O' Cataclysm involved whatsoever. No, none, not kidding, no BOC."
Source
And:
"You'll find the cards on www.woot.com only."

Just to mention, if you have a Twitter, I will be posting updates on new Trading Cards as well as the full list of letters (once all are found) on my account. So if you're lazy and don't want to waste your last few days on Earth watching www.woot.com, just follow me and we can be friends when the world ends. :)
@manbearpixel
Anyone who complains about the last event thingy gets eaten first when we run out of beans.
@robinbobcat: upvoting you!
It appears Woots image store doesn't automatically update URLs. Here is the link to the actual hosted image that will update as the time goes on:
dl.dropbox.com/u/20117472/Woot-Cards/Woot-Cards . png
You will have to copy/paste the URL and get rid of the spaces before and after the " . " If I make it a link, it will get locked, same as the original message.
Maybe I can enlist @inkycatz to make the image in my original post just a URL link instead of the picture. :)
Nope. Its finals week and things are crazy up in this library! I hope I'm not missing too much good stuff.
My guess is "WorldWontEnd" as that is in the title of the NASA link.
@bsmith1: Three consonants so far. Pat, I want to buy a vowel!
For a woot shirt? Thanks, but no thanks.
Whelp, there goes my genius idea.
Any thoughts on why there is a 62 on the one card? It would make more sense if it were between 1 and 12, right? right?

M for Monster! Number 1 for USA!
"Wootmageddon" is still in play....
@belyndag: Ask and you shall receive! New letter "O": http://www.woot.com/offers/kona-ukulele-for-dummies-pack-2
@adamant628: maybe it's both 6 and 2?
@funbobby99: Innaresting idea, but I doubt it. There would be a nomenclature clash with "12": would that be twelve or one and two? Also, didn't they say there would be twelve cards? If 62 uses up two letter slots then at least one card would be out of a job.

7 hours of card radio silence
I'm seeing some play on armagedd-on somehow. Just need to wedge in another letter in there somewhere.
We have an E!!

Wootmageddon remains in the running....
I'm guessing it starts with "M" and ends with "D"
Anyone think the deal is live now or will it be active only when the last card drops?
@j5: Last card. Surely, they wouldn't let that happen again, right?
So far, I'm guessing it's something monkey related.
Monkey-???ed
Following the trope of Planet of the Apes, perhaps.
Sorry, had a late night. Got everything updated this AM.

It certainly looks like the numbers in the upper right suggest the letter placement. If so, then M is the first letter, N is the last letter, and O is the ninth letter.
At first I thought that perhaps D would be both the 6th and 2nd letter but it won't work when you apply that rule to both the D card and the E card (which would make the 3rd and 5th letters E)
Right now I'm at a loss as to the placement of E and D in the word.
@kcmark: That would mean there are 62 letters?
@j5: I went back and reread the original blog post about the scavenger hunt and they only say that there are 12 cards - they never say how many letters are in the missing word. However, since there are only 12 cards and based upon what we have so far I don't see how the word could be that long.
My guess is that for the two-digit cards it's some combination of the two numbers. At least we now know that you don't add the two numbers together to come up with the letter placement since two of the cards add up to 8 (53 and 62) and they have two different letters (D and E).
It may be as simple as taking all of the cards and lining them up numerical from the one with the lowest numerical value to the highest numerical value. Actually, that would make sense as a way to do it because it would make it much more difficult to guess the answer early on since you don't have any real sense of letter placement until you have several of the cards.
or the numbers have nothing to do with it and you have to unscramble them yourself.
theory:
two words
1st word defined by the monkey symbol
2nd word defined by the new-cue-lar symbol
eta: Hmm, I think I may be close, no way to tell though.
@j5: I like that theory - that would allow two uses of the numbers that don't otherwise work if it's one word -- either (1) each digit could reflect letter placement of the highlighted letter in the particular word (either monkey or wootbomb), or (2) the sum total of the digits could reflect letter placement.
EDIT -- After looking at the "in the chaos, a friend" card it's obviously that idea (1) above doesn't work. Both letter #1 and letter #2 are not going to be N.
@dns12999: always a possibility, but I think the woot staff fancies themselves as clever and I think they would view it as too boring to do it that way.
@j5 Saw the following in another forum that goes along with your theory:
"monkeygeddon it is. Additionally this explains the differences in the pictures. The monkey (icon in the bottom right of each card) for the letters in MONKEY and the explosion for the "word" GEDDON."
Make a lot of sense to me and seems to go along with how things look now. This will also fill all 12 letters.
@ski18069:
Well poo.
I guess I am unoriginal :)
M-O-N-something works if the letter placement is based upon ordering the cards from the lowest numerical value (in the upper right) to the highest numerical value. With the current set of cards, M-O-N would be the first three letters.
I think we are playing bingo

I've also compiled a little info-card with links to each trading card that you can download and check out.

The file WILL be updated as time progresses and more are found.
@bogie21: Mind if I add a link to your image on my text file i've put on dropbox? It has some general information, steps, and current known letters. I can add a link to your image for people to check out.
Putting the letters in order based on the number attached to the them, how about:
www.shirt.woot.com/offers/MONkeyGiftED
lowercase letters are guesses.
UPPERCASE letters are actual & in order, just not necessarily in the right place.
An anagram solver to help us once we have all/nearly all the letters.

The word "demon" is a possibility.
It still looks like some kind of play on armageddon plus.
@bogie21: @manbearpixel:
Some (many?) can't get to dropbox (or any online file share) from work
yes, I know
should be working
blah
Just so you know, you're not alone in puzzling this out! There are folks on www.woot working hard too.
