Another choice in the drop down menu would be great, though I believe in an earlier post me and a bunch of others asked for this already:

Oh and thanks for asking again. I fail to see how much extra work it would be add a few more things to the menu.

@mbrugnon: I? Make fun of someone? I don't see WHY you would say something so very cruel.

On the other hand, let me add to the chorus of those wishing for the ability to EDIT, and DELETE, for Deals and for Questions. I have actually hit cancel 10 times on a question I was in the middle of asking, because you cannot touch the title once you've hit the "next" button. Nothing like having to see "preditions" instead of "predictions" after it's just too late to fix (although I didn't notice it until someone else pointed it out).

I would rather have the ability to delete (within that five minute window) than just another item for Tattle (since they say they mostly don't pay attention to which one we chose anyway). I would say that more than half the time, when I've typed a comment, I hit submit, and at that moment, I see a typo that needs fixing.

Preditions. Hostest. I would LOVE to be able to edit and delete, yes indeed I would.

There was also this excellent discussion of how much we'd like to be able to edit deals and questions.

I'm really glad you brought this up (again). I probably hit cancel four times over that Maker's Mark Bourbon Chocolates, because I I'd see a mistake, and have to start over. Knowing that I could actually edit the goofs would make me so very very happy.

Horrible idea. it will only clog up by beautiful screen.

vote-for5vote-against

@sgoman5674: Yes, it's similar to several things we've all posted. That's the problem with popularity; it's ephemeral. (I just made myself laugh with that one)

I don't really care whether the Tattle button has more choices any more. I'd rather have more control over stuff I did, instead. I'm in agreement with @glindagw on wanting to be able to RIP my own deals, and looking forward to the day when the form for Deals and the form for Questions allows editing in the same five minute window we've come to know and love with comments.

I'm actually hoping that they'll lean more towards the way Deals works rather than stick with the code base for Questions, since I've never been trapped in the Hell of Matching for a Deal in the way that I have for a Question. They're only matching on the words in the title (true even for deals, last I heard, rather than using the URL), it can really get stuck.

@glindagw: or at the least better weekend response on expired deals.

vote-for2vote-against

@hobbit: that would be nice. But the CS guys need weekends too!

vote-for5vote-against

@sgoman5674: Exactly, which makes it to their advantage to allow us to RIP our own deals.

vote-for3vote-against

@sgoman5674: someone works weekends, there are new sponsored deals posted and an error that was pointed out yesterday was fixed along with the post discussing it removed.

vote-for1vote-against

@hobbit: Yeah I know, that was my bug report. I also see @snapster hanging out and commenting on the weekends. I don't really know is on the wootstaff that works on the weekends, and I would really like to so I can show my appreciation.

vote-for1vote-against

@sgoman5674: couldn't remember who reported it, since the post was removed. I figured it was either you or catbertthegreat but I didn't want to misspeak.

Late to the party, I know, but I'm beginning to wish there was an "idiot" button for comments as well.
Just ran across a real wanker this morning. Don't know who peed in his Wheaties, but his comments were less than helpful.
Dear Mr. Wanker,
Don't like a product/deal? Fine. Don't vote for it. Your dislike doesn't mean you have to make a complete ass of yourself. Let's see you post a stellar deal or two.
V/R,
LaV.

(I darned sure couldn't find one he had added when I searched.)

vote-for2vote-against

@lavikinga: some people are like that. I find them highly amusing actually you know they only do it for attention half the time.

vote-for1vote-against

@hobbit: I suppose so, but really, there no excuse to be a total d*ck. This guy didn't seem clever enough to be a troll.

vote-for1vote-against

@lavikinga: You know if they get really abusive I have tattled on them. I don't know if staff does anything, but at least I feel better.

vote-for5vote-against

@hobbit: That is what @shrdlu's flounder is for.

vote-for1vote-against

Or some way to remove your previous posts ... Some of the deals that I posted are really old and I know that they are expired or the price changed. Removing will be a way to for a posted to self regulate.

This is expicially true for deals that have a narrow winnow of time.

vote-for3vote-against

@sanderhalet: @snapster has shared that he thinks that in the future that will allow for any research for folks if they are looking to see if there was ever a time when a deal was cheaper or for historical value. Plus if we comment on something he wants all of that information left. So consider it historical data. If the deals have expired you can tattle and let staff know and they will RIP the deal. In other words, I wouldn't stress about all the past deals you have posted.

vote-for1vote-against

@hobbit: Then there should be a way to hide dead deals and it should be auto-enabled, since looking for current deals is more important than researching information. Not that it is not useful but it is cluttering.

vote-for5vote-against

@attackingmoose: talk to @snapster the rest of the staff. They like the current format. I don't really see a problem. I don't go beyond the first page of the popular deals and rarely beyond the second or third pages of the fresh deals. I just ignore the expired deals, it is just part of the landscape for me, I just don't let it bother me that much.

vote-for1vote-against

I want a button that posts what I'm thinking in the future.

Whoah, you already developed it?!?
