Dark, 70% cocoa. Any higher is overkill.

If we're talking Hershey's and the like, I'll take the milk.

With high quality chocolate, dark or what is sometimes labeled 'extra dark'.

@rprebel: 82% will change your life.

@gregorylikescheapstu: I appreciate that, but I've tried it all. 82, 85, 90(!)...too bitter for my delicate sensibilities. c:

@rprebel: If you ever see it around, pick up a bar of Shaman Chocolate. They have several varieties with pictures of sad-faced native-american children and elderly on them. Whole Foods might sell them... Health food stores usually. Whatever they do to their chocolate is miraculous. (My favorite is the macadamia and pink salt, but that's merely milk chocolate. :p )

Dark. Not only tasty, but healthy for you too.

vote-for1vote-against

Yes. Mmmm chocolate... I make my hot cocoa with Hershey's baking powder, sugar and milk. Don't like the packaged mixes...too sweet.

my cravings will change, one day it will be for mile chocolate, one for dark, and one for white. I am not a big chocolate person, but I love the variety.

Dark, of course. The other stuff is just candy.

In fact, chewing on cacao beans is pretty good, though quite bitter. (I also chew on coffee beans, BTW.)

The older I get, the darker I like it.

I'm just waiting for an "I like my chocolate the way I like my women..." joke to show up here.

I prefer dark to scratch the itch, but there's something that happens to me with milk chocolate that dark doesn't touch. Guess I'm a junkie. BOTH!

Gotta go with dark. We can eat all we want "for our health." (ahem)

vote-for0vote-against

I like milk chocolate but my mom always tries to convince me to eat some dark chocolate she always says."It's healthier and it's not as fating as milk chocolate!

vote-for2vote-against

Dark by far. More complex flavors, and not overly sweet.

vote-for1vote-against

Neither is better, it's just what your in the mood for.

vote-for2vote-against

Dark :) as @rprebel said, around 70% is optimal.

@cloudscout: Does your chocolate make sandwiches, too?

vote-for1vote-against

I guess that all depends on what you're doing with the chocolate (baking, drinking, eating, soaping up with it and slathering it all over yourself, etc.), and what you're paring it with (if anything). I prefer milk chocolate myself. :-)

Dark! But milk chocolate is fine too. I don't really care for white chocolate.
