The Blues Brothers. Any time it's on, I have to watch it. Despite owning the dvd.

The Fifth Element. I love some Milla Jovovich, and Bruce Willis isn't bad either.

The countdown to the next Resident Evil continues...

@dreamyvelvet: Anything.

Glad to help.

And good movie, back when John Cusak made good movies. 2012 was awful.

vote-for7vote-against

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

vote-for7vote-against

The Godfather series. James Bond movies...especially w/Sean Connery.

vote-for8vote-against

Die Hard. The first one. I have watched that film at least 100 times.
Star Wars: A New Hope.

And like gmwhit, all the James Bond films.

vote-for3vote-against

Starman. I've been hot for Jeff Bridges ever since.

And Hair, my favorite sing-along show.

vote-for4vote-against

@okham: haha same here... I guess that's why TNT keeps replaying it all the time.

vote-for2vote-against

@magic cave: So know what you mean about Jeff Bridges. Gentle & sensitive. ::sigh::

Forgot to mention SCARFACE w/Al Pacino. Love that one, too. Not gentle & sensitive. Just listed in on dvd - only 12 left, if interested. :-(

vote-for4vote-against

The Fifth Element and V for Vendetta

If I am unlucky enough to turn on either of those I won't be able to tear my eyes away until they are done.

vote-for3vote-against

Forrest Gump, one of the best movies ever made!

vote-for3vote-against

@jsimsace: Yep, my answer too. I knew someone else would beat me to it.

vote-for6vote-against

The Count of Monte Cristo, Shawshank Redemption, and a few others that I can't think of off the top of my head... also pretty much any Kung Fu movie, no matter how cheesy (more the merrier, after all).

vote-for5vote-against

Terminator 2, Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, Wayne's World.

vote-for7vote-against

Big Trouble in Little China. It's one of those movies that I'm always in the mood to watch.

vote-for6vote-against

No more TV for me. Rent movies from Netflix. Hate the interruption of commercials and the content of them. Hate paying for trash. But if I had to say it would be any John Wayne movie and old World War II movies. Love them.

vote-for5vote-against

@gmwhit: I love the Godfather but lord, on TV it is about 5 hours of viewing time just for one. I still sit the whole damn time though.

vote-for4vote-against

@stingray69: I LOVE that movie (though I haven't seen it in a while). But, truly, I dislike Kim Cattrall.

I love that scene when they drink something that gives them courage:
Jack Burton: Feel pretty good. I'm not, uh, I'm not scared at all. I just feel kind of... feel kind of invincible.
Wang Chi: Me, too. I got a very positive attitude about this.
Jack Burton: Good, me too.
Wang Chi: Yeah!
[pause]
Jack Burton: Is it getting hot in here, or is it just me?

OR

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

Any of the Star Wars movies :)

The Blues Brothers gets me but for me the #1 is My Cousin Vinnie. I love that I usually seem to come in just before Marisa Tomei's biological clock is "ticking." And the suit for looking presentable in court and a "grit" and the train. I gotta go to bed. lol

vote-for5vote-against

Gone with the wind. I love Scarlet.

vote-for3vote-against

@same123: Can you believe I've never seen that movie!? I must be the worst movie buff in history haha. For some reason just never got around to it but always wanted to.

vote-for6vote-against

Shawshank Redemption. Can't help it. It's just a damn good movie.

vote-for3vote-against

@wakingmind: I STILL haven't seen all of V. I need to stream it or borrow it, but I'm not buying any more DVDs for awhile. I don't have time to watch the ones I have bought.
As an actual answer, Dr. Strangelove was on TCM a couple of nights ago, always a favourite!

vote-for5vote-against

When I read this question, my first thought was The Fifth Element - good answer @okham!
My second thought (don't laugh) - Armaggedon. I've heard so many people say this is an awful movie - but I LOVE it!
My third thought was - Pulp Fiction.
I didn't even realize Bruce Willis was in all three until just this moment (but maybe my subconscious did?). It's funny because I like him, but if I had been asked to name my top three favorite actors, he wouldn't have been named as one of them (he might be in the top 5 though, definitely top 10).

vote-for5vote-against

Braveheart. I don't even know why either... I hate the edited portions.

big trouble in little China.

@gmwhit: And displaying a surprising talent as a country singer these days, too. If you haven't heard it yet, check out "Maybe I missed the point."

vote-for5vote-against

Thinking this over a bit more, I realized I'm a sucker for virtually any of the 1930's-early 40's movies with plotlines involving ditzy rich folks, earnest struggling working folks, and lots of singing and dancing. They were pretty much all intended as escapist fare from difficult times, and I love trying to figure out which virtually uncredited actors became well known stars later in life.

vote-for5vote-against

@michaels1715: I like Armageddon as well. It's cheesy, but enjoyable.

vote-for5vote-against

The Shawshank Redemption and Grease.

vote-for4vote-against

Groundhog day. Its like I've seen it 100 times before, but I still keep watching it.

"Somewhere in time" Jane Seymour/Christopher Reeve

"What dreams may come" Robin Williams/Cuba Gooding Jr.

vote-for2vote-against

Grease. The funny thing is I'm not sure why I have to watch it.

vote-for2vote-against

@jimeezlady: I recently bought & watched Somewhere in Time for a stay home date. The GF and I were talking about seeing it in Jr. High, so we had to get a copy :-)

vote-for1vote-against

@magic cave: Country isn't my favorite style. Do think he does an excellent job of getting the old (I liked it better then) country sound back. ...But maybe I missed the point. ;-)
