I always shoot for 8.

I always get < 7.

I like to get at least 8 (sometimes as much as 10) when I have to go to work the next day. Friday and Saturday nights I usually get less than 6 hours.

Need? I can survive for weeks at a time on an average of 3 hours a night. After about five days I feel like crap doing it, but I can. To actually get up when I've had this little sleep requires something like a crying baby or other thing that I have to deal with.

When I've had the opportunity to sleep as much as my body wants for a few days straight, I'll eventually start waking up without an alarm clock after about seven hours, so this is probably what my body actually needs.

I start to dream (or remember that I dreamed something, for those people who claim that we all always dream) once I start averaging more than five or six hours.

I get 5 hours on average during the week, and 10 on the weekends :)

Based on sound sleep science, most people need 8 hours of sleep, except a very small group of people who carry a genetic mutation to the gene DEC2.

That group is really, really small.

Get off Deals.Woot and take a nap! :)

I try to get atleast 6. I average about 7 a night. 8-10 on Sunday.

7-8/ night. I feel like sleep also averages out over a week, if you get less one night but balance it out over the week (at around 7-8 hours/ night) everything is good.

Oddly, 5-6. I saw my doctor about it because I was worried I wasn't getting enough ... but since I do not have trouble concentrating and seem to wake up naturally, he said it might not be necessary to prescribe something.

Between 5 and 6- never more, but when I was working, I could have slept all morning. And, no I don't nap during the day.

Sleep is for the weak.

I sleep around four hours, total. I go to bed when I'm tired, and get up when I'm through sleeping. When Deals was in its infancy, I was around for a fearsome number of hours. I still check in now and then, but have other interests.

Most people seem not to get enough sleep, though. It's important that you listen to your body, and get adequate rest, however much that may be. My daughter seems to function best when she gets between 7 and 8 hours. I've had friends who needed closer to 9.

Many of my (on-line) acquaintances of long standing live in places like Japan and Australia, because they're up and working when the rest of the world is asleep. My two favorite news shows are "Up to the Minute (CBS)" and "World News Now (ABC)." NBC just has stupid re-runs of the tonight show. I also like the European and Asian Market discussions that Bloomberg TV has on in the middle of the night.

7 hours I'm at my prime. I will sometimes get wildly more or less and be a zombie with either.

i need 9-10, usually get 6-7 during the week and 8-9 on the weekends. :/

I'm weird. If I get less than 5 hours or more than 8 hours, I'm perfectly fine throughout the day, although the former leaves me tired afterwards. If I get between 5 and 8, then I'm screwed all day

20 a day... which leaves 4 hours a day for playing on the computer... :-)

4 - 12.... something is wrong with me.

vote-for4vote-against

ALL of them. I'd settle for a straight 5 hours with no waking.

Anywhere from 45 min to 3 hours for the 4 days I work at night, then about 4 hours on the days I have off. Some weeks I might crash for 1 day and wake up feeling worse... I find the key to feeling like your getting enough sleep is to sleep the same amount of time for a week or two straight, then after you wake up each time you will feel like its normal and be fine for the day.

I need more than I get... Pretty much live 18 hour days...
