Why do the regular woot sites load faster than the mobile site on my mobile devices?

Kudos to Woot for have the fastest load times of pretty much any other site I visit aside from google. Which is actually quite impressive when you consider all the pics and other crap that are on their sites now. So why would the mobile sites be slower?

I should add that this was tested on a 2G data connection. Over wifi it's about the same. (Also, there is a clear benefit to the mobile site on phones.)

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
