@arinekhen: That is not a 10" tablet. It is 8.3" and out of stock.

@jsimsace: If the Galaxy Note is the tablet of choice, that will be a huge disappointment.

@jsimsace: Oops, I missed it. It's sold out now. I'd have given it consideration, though. I'd like a Galaxy Note, but at 1/4th the price this would have been worth a look. I didn't get online at all yesterday. I took a vacation day and spent all day yesterday taking my mom who's visiting to look at assisted living places in my city. The ones where she lives are like warehouses for old folks. My city is a model city for aging and we have a lot of nice places.

Well for those with any interest, I finally settled on an inexpensive but huge off-brand device. I'd have preferred a Galaxy Note, but the best I could find was like 10% off, which is not what I would call a meaningful savings.

@moondrake: Good thing it has a rear camera! I want to see you use it to take pictures! 13.3" for a camera is just fantastic (sorry, sarcasm...I just found that funny).

@morriea: I don't expect it would take very good pictures. I am a purist, I take pictures with my camera, not my phone or my tablet or my microwave oven. If I was in a car accident or something I'd use the phone for record keeping, but anything worth taking a commemorative photo of is worth using a real camera for the job, IMO. :)

OTOH, there does not seem to be anyone making the case-stand combo for these things. I can find a sack to put it in, and there appear to be a couple of fold-up stands that might hold it, but no handy one-piece cases like I have my 10" tablet in right now. On the plus side, it takes both micro-SD cards and has a USB port, so getting files into it should be easier.
