Groan, I am going to work.

Happy Father's Day dad!

Kids all grown up and moved away, wife working, so I'll be home alone. Hey, wait, NAPTIME!

I'll be making cookies for my wife's coworkers. My son did pick me up American Dad Volume 7 so I'm all set as far as that goes.

My dad's coming to me since I'm 10 days from due with grandchild #2, and bringing my mother (divorced) because he feels obligated to do so whenever he comes. For this he will be rewarded with dominion over the remote (golf channel likely) and a meal out to a location of his choosing, or a nap on the couch while I grill ridiculous amounts of food.

Growing up, we always spent time with my grandfather the around Father's Day too. We'd always have him with us for other holidays, and visit throughout the year as well. I suppose I'm thankful even if it is a sort of Hallmark holiday, because it pointed out another opportunity to spend time with him and family in general. The only Father's Days I regret are ones where I wasn't able to spend time with the important men in my life.

I'll be driving home after visiting with my Mom and sister for the past week, (about 4 1/2 - 5 hours) and then mowing my yard. Yipee. With any luck, my son might remember to give me a call.

Hubby got breakfast in bed (bell peppers, mushroom and cheese omelet, hash brown, biscuit, 1/2 grapefruit, thick slice bacon, coffee and oj), complete with kids giving him his cards and awesome gift, while they jumped on the bed to greet him. Later we are hosting fathers day dinner (11 lbs of homemade prime rib, red skin potatoes, and various sides, and appetizers).

Family cookout and horseshoes with Dad, brothers, brothers-in-law, and nephews-in-law late afternoon when it cools down some. We'll have at least 5 fathers there, I think.

Church, lunch with my parents, kids, and siblings w/their families, then mow the yard.

Taking flowers to my Dad's grave, then spending the rest of the day with my Mom, most likely talking about my Dad and how much we miss him.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's on woot!

Daughters took me out for sushi (an excellent brunch, as I slept late) and now we are about to play Scrabble. Mostly just hanging out together.

Currently, I'm in the process of mowing the lawn with the neighbor's lawnmower. Why the neighbor's? Because someone stole mine sometime recently. Happy father's day to me, I'll be mowing with a non-self-propelled mower while my wife is with my son. And it's above average temperature right now, too.

My son actually remembered to call me today.
