Does it bother you when there's no description in the description box for deals/questions?
Too often I find myself looking to get more info on a question or a deal and there is nothing in the description box. Just a vague question/deal that could mean any number of things with no explanation. Anyone else have similar frustrations?

Depending on the deal, it can be redundant when someone adds more of a description to a basic item. Shipping is good information to have, but if it's free, then I'm not sure it's necessary.
I usually try to include any useful information (especially as it pertains to the reason it is a deal), but at the very least I try to include the basic product description from the website.
The only time I do not include a description is if the item is universally recognizable item and adding info is just not useful. I hate to add extra stuff that takes up valueable time to read when it is not necessary.

Sometimes people choose not to put any information. Even when they think the title is self-explanatory, I want to at least see a "this is cool, I bought it, you should to" or something. Anything.
I don't usually vote up deals with no data. Even if it's someone I know, and otherwise like, I don't. I'm just funny that way.
Now, I can see posting something with zero description when you know that it's one of those popular deal sites where everyone is in a mad rush to be the one that gets it first. Then you can go back and edit in the details, later (I think that's actually a successful strategy).
Seriously, though, there needs to be something there. Of course, I've just about given up on voting up deals anyway. I'm tired of yet another free ebook, or other freebie, and it seems like there's a LOT of those, lately. It'll pass, then I'll go back to paying more attention.
:-(
Yes, and here's why. I pay attention to two of the deal a day sites, and if there's something I think is good enough, I'll post it. Every once in a while, I get beat to the punch, which is fine. I delete mine and life goes on. But when they beat me by not including a description or leaving the title as "Dailysteals.com etc etc"...well that just grinds my gears. I don't want to be anal about it, but they aren't properly formatted. Shouldn't those be the ones that get deleted?
Now if you'll pardon me, I need to get off my high horse.
EDIT: Once again, shrdlu provides some perspective that escapes us mere mortals. If they go back and fix it, that's fine. Actually, it's a nice strategy I hadn't yet considered.
@wormburnr: First I must say I'm LOL because this is a question that I was thinking of asking. And, YES, it bothers me to see nothing but a title. Often there is NO shipping info - I want to see that. Even if it's a disclaimer that says shipping is based on where you live.
Agree w/@shrdlu & @rprebel - put some kind of description in. Adding personal comments draws me in. ...Puts a personal touch on it.
To the OPs of deals lacking ANY info: (You know who you are.)You're the one posting the deal - make it easy for me to know the total cost to me. (And upvote your deal.) Please post some kind of description & the shipping costs, okay? TIA
Like the way THIS one was posted with zilch for info? http://deals.woot.com/deals/details/5f3508f9-6960-4bed-8f82-c8e7f2c62ee3/roasting-pan-black-11#c87ffc83-8271-4030-a808-b3787851bb4c
I was that person and added a simple cut & paste (really hard to do that cutting & pasting, you guys) mostly as a favor for beginning cooks here on Deals looking for an inexpensive roasting pan.
yes it does,i think it is needed to describ the deals or questions to make others more clearly!
Yes it bothers me. Put a little effort into it. When there's no description, I assume it's an automated posting.
@mgscott: You mean ↓?
Yep, it does bother me. I always try to include something from the product description when I post a deal.
Not sure if anyone reads it, but I know I prefer to read some description before I click on the link to the deal.
i like the description cuz i can hover over the link before clicking in. i can get all the description on Chrome or the first chunk of lines on IE. i especially hate when there's no price in the title and no price in the description. sometimes a nice person posts the price but dayum, they should get all your deal upvotes now
Shipping info and price is all I need. Everything else I can gather from going to the site itself.
