What do you give your mail carrier for the Holidays?

Every year I'm torn on what to give the mail carrier. They cannot accept cash or gift cards. Part of me thinks that a jar of Mixed Nuts or assorted candy is typical, borderline tacky.

Then when I think about it, I have more face time with my UPS driver (thanks to Woot!) I think it is appropriate to have a gift for both, but what to get that doesn't break any rules and won't be tacky.

Nothing because mine are complete idiots.
Package says "DO NOT FOLD" What do I get? A folded envelope with a now worthless item.
It's raining, let's leave the package on the front uncovered porch.

My UPS and FedEx guys do a good job, but it's always a different person.

since I live in a newer subdivision, we have those annoying mailboxes where there are 20+ boxes all in one. When I was a kid, we had a mailbox at the end of every driveway, and we had the same mailman every day. Now on the rare occasions I see the "mail carrier", it's a different guy every time.

so no, I don't give him/her anything other than a JOB. In this economy, they should appreciate that.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
