What do you do during commercials?

When you're watching TV and a commercial comes on, what do you do? I usually play a small game on my iPad. Also, it annoys me when people channel surf during commercials. Do you even watch them at all?

We don't have cable, so my only encounter with commercials is on Hulu. I usually just switch tabs.

I don't have Cable TV.. All I have is Hulu/Netflix/YouTube/Amazon/Other-Interwebz-viewing...

I threw cable tv out once I realized I only watched things that were filler when nothing was on.. (which was almost always). So I upgraded my internet to 25D/2U and dropped the Cable.

but If I did have cable, and a commercial did come on, I would play on one of Touch Devices

The programs on my DVR generally don't have commercials. (About the only time they do is when I watch a program before the commercials get stripped out... this is extremely rare.)

When I watch on Hulu, the commercials are either all up front or very short (not long enough to do anything useful) so I tend to watch them or just stare at the ceiling while they are on).

On the very, very rare occasion that I'm actually watching live TV, I usually wait a while before starting (about 8 minutes for a 30 minute show, 18 for an hour show, etc.) so I can skip forward and never actually watch the commercials.

It's actually kind of weird when people start talking about commercials that they've all seen and I don't know what they're talking about.

I tend to just zone out. And then one of the kids will ask me something about the commercial that was just on, and I'll have no idea what they are talking about. Seriously, it happens all the time.

Add me in the "I don't watch commercials" camp. I will also do all that I can to avoid watching live TV. Although my husband insists on watching a news channel every night live, so commercials invariably are a part of that portion of our evening, unless there was an interruption which forced a pause. I usually use this hour to do other things, barely paying attention to the TV show, much less the commercials. Unless I get a call "come see this commercial" from hubby, who watches additional live news throughout the evening before I get home from work and enjoys them.

I watch tv on Hulu or network web sites, so there aren't a lot of commercials and they're short. Sometimes I'll do something quick like push dishes in the dishwasher or something. Sometimes I actually watch them.

When I can't skip them with the DVR (rare), I mute the TV and wander away for a few minutes.

The only program I watch close to its original broadcast time is the morning news. But I start it while I'm getting my breakfast ready, then rewind it when I sit down so I can skip the commercials. By the time I've caught up to it, I'm done eating breakfast.

All I do is watch woot in case I miss a deal, its the only reason I check my email( I canceled cable when I found woot!

I live in the future! We have this thing called the DVR! Not sure what it stands for but I can record television months in advance and then fast forward right through the commercials. It's pretty amazing stuff, but why watch TV when you can read a good book! Or masturbate!

The only time I'm really exposed to commercials is during live sporting events. Pretty much any other time, I fast-forward. During sports, I'll usually distract myself with the laptop and woot or any other favorite site.

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.
