How does Woot calculate the reputation points?

I know that submit deals, ask/answer questions will affect the points. But anyone know the formula? Or how they deduct points away? how they add up the points?

i'm pretty sure they lay magical jumping beans on a keyboard. whichever username the bean first type is #1. the next username is #2, and so on.

I posted a deal with 8 plus votes but my ranking went lower. When I posted a deal with one negative vote and my ranking jumped 10 points. Just curious.

@gadgetsngizmos: no one's really sure how the formula works. also, it's recalculated every so often, it's not instant. so, posting a deal with a negative vote and jumping 10 points, may have just been timing.

they've also been doing some tweaking the last couple weeks, so people's reps can be all over the place. i went from 99 to 49 to 87 to 97 a couple weeks ago.

i think the points are calculated by @wootbot playing with the electronic Ouija board he got for Christmas

@w00tgurl: indeed.. ever since these changes I have not been able to get back in the top 10 no matter how many popular deals or questions posted.. I know I don't tattle enough, but it feels as if you have to LIVE on deals.woot.com to get up there nowadays lol

I have no hope of ever getting to the top ten for deals or questions. For voting, I've been in the top 15 many times at 6AM (ET), but over the course of the day I fall off, mostly because I cannot sit on woot all day at work unless there is a chance at a Batch of Cookies and even then I cannot make it too obvious (my boss' boss might confiscate the BoC, or at least try to).

I've had 4 deals go popular in the last 24 hours (3 yesterday alone)and my rep hasn't moved despite showing it's "updated" several times in there.
