You know this is already in place. When you post the deal or question you can turn it off by unclicking th eemail when someone else adds a comment box. That is what turns it on or off. Except on the older deals which we created before this feature existed.

That doesn't change the default.....If I prefer it off that means I'm unchecking the box each time I post a deal or question....with this option you configure the default option (checked or unchecked) this way if you prefer it off but sometimes want to be notified on a question you only check that one or two as you create them.

@justafreak: They turned it on as a default for a reason, because many NEW members were complaining that they weren't getting the messages that we were responding to. So I believe staff felt it was easier to have it on as a default and for those of us who didn't want to get emails could just turn it off instead. Otherwise we are back at square one with NEWBIES complaining that no one is responding to their questions, and frankly I think the new folks are staff's main concern.

I think being able to change your personal default would be nice. Sure we can keep the default default (not to be redundant) as all notifications on to prevent un-savvy newbies from complaining, but at the same time allow for more advanced wooters to better manage their 'junk' e-mail.

To be completely honest though, the only reason I clicked through on this topic was to find out what a 'Feater' is. I was kind of disappointed when it turned out to just be a simple typing error. :-(
