Totally agree. I stayed home this year. Will check around online and try to find better deals with free shipping.

The few things that I thought were an okay deal were either not available on line or were sold out. Oh well.

I didn't see anything advertised that was worth putting my boots on for.

Really sad, the few items worth venturing out for were "limited" qualities.
EVERY single item I have found online are sold out within minutes.
Where are the bargains?????

Amazon decided to have many items as lightning deals that were all day deals last year and at competitors. So that could be construed as annoying.

I didn't buy a single thing that was on "Black Friday" prices. Most of the stores I have purchased from for the holidays had better sales BEFORE this weekend.

idk who needs deals when I used my @jumbowoot coupon to get a free snuggie?
only lookin at dvds to prepare for the snuggie & me time

It's all marketing. Have a few zero-profit and loss-leaders and a bunch of stuff that's really just a normal sale price, and the folks will flock to it. Animal behavior, really - hence, you have idiots who think its necessary to mace other customers. She has supposedly turned herself in, BTW.

I was disappointed. I did go online to Kohls and Lowes and buy a few things, but they weren't Xmas presents. They were items for the house (towels, tools, poinsettas, flatware). Like @drfaulken, I deal hunt year round and my Xmas shopping is usually pretty much done by BF.

I think the problem is (if you want to call it a problem), that we have become so used to finding such great deals here, all of the time, that the Black Friday deals just don't look so special to us. Woo hoo, Woot!

I looked through ALL the ads in my local paper and like someone else said, the very very few really good deals were limited to "5 per store" or some such fine print! Everything else has been available at comparable prices all year long if you watch out regularly instead of trying to even brave the traffic on Black Friday!!

I have done MUCH better over the year with places like this, Amazon, etc... I didn't bother to "put my boots on" either! Seems like the hype was twice as big this year, but the actual sales offered were about half as good as the past few years.

I was disappointed, but I saved a lot of hassle by staying home :)

There were some decent deals but it wasn't on big ticket items, the video games at Walmart and Best Buy were great prices. $15 for a $60 game was great. A few stores had good prices on TVs, Sams 51" for 498 is a good price and they are still in stock at my local store. I paid a bit more for my 47" LCD about 6 months ago.

It was very crappy here in AZ (Tucson and Sierra Vista). We have all the big box stores and they all were disappointing except Toys R Us which was surprisingly not busy.

I'm underwhelmed most years. It seems like there are better sales through the year. At best this time of year aggregates a few more of them together. I think Consumer Reports had something about how this time of year a lot of the items for sale aren't the best brands, so the deals aren't really that great. http://consumerist.com/2011/11/black-friday-discounts-may-not-be-the-best-time-to-buy-that-tv-you-want.html

I done a lot of Christmas shopping early this year by way of Woot and I got better deals than what's available now. I've heard a lot of disappointing stories from friends and family who went to the Walmart sale. Most of them have said there was only small quantities available and everything was snatched up by just a few people.

I'm disappointed in a lot of the online deals as well. Hoping Cyber Monday brings along something better.

vote-for2vote-against

I'm hoping cyber Monday brings some good online deals since black Friday was such a disappointment. There's no way I'm going to subject myself to the black Friday lunacy to fight 50 people over the 5 good sale-priced items they have in store.

I couldn't have said it any better liquidblue1

I was hoping I would see something that I couldnt refuse but there was nothing i needed or wanted that was just too good to pass up...maybe next year eh?

It killed me to see how many things weren't actually deals this year. Like Newegg's Cyber Monday had a Logitech Anywhere Mouse for 44.99 with free shipping marked down from 59.99 (as if that's what they always sell it for), but I bought that mouse from them 2 months ago for 49.99 with free shipping.

I know that it's just a mouse, and that it's not what's going to be marked down a lot, but honestly even the big ticket items weren't really marked down much, they just marked up the "original price" to make you think you were getting a good deal. Anyone who bothers to actually look at prices before Black Friday/Cyber Monday knows that their sale this year was a joke, along with most other retailers that I saw.
