Do you still skip stairs?
I'm in my 30's now but I still love skipping stairs... something about it just brings me back.
Anyone else still skip stairs? :-p
On the way up, I usually go 2 at a time. On the way down, 1 at a time. I've got 3 year olds to think about, can't be breaking my neck.
I skip stairs by taking the elevator.
No three-year olds here (unless you count the cat) but what @jeffrjohn wrote about summarizes my feelings on this.
I do tend to take the stairs, instead of the elevator/escalator, especially when going down and less than four floors.
Fair enough... when I posted... I only was thinking about going up. :-)
I do because it feels like it is better exercise. But, thinking about it, it involves the same amount of work. I guess two steps at a time gets you up the stairs faster which means more exercise per amount of time but the same overall I would assume.
@nortonsark: I took it that way too!! Because it has been eons since I was in a position or at an age where I could actually skip up and down the stairs - never even entered my thought until I saw your post.
No, I have some pretty steep stairs and the rain makes it too slick for any shenanigans. :)
Cute question :-)
Never really thought about why I sometimes do & other times don't. Being in a hurry isn't enough of a reason to make me take 2 at a time, because I'm always in a hurry. I realized that I do it when I'm looking forward to something or had an exceptional day or just plain feeling pretty damn good about things in general.
I do, but I often get asked what I am in a hurry for. 2 at a time going up. FYI the exercise thing, I think it feels like more work taking them 1 at a time.
yes
big feetsies
long leggies
usually take steps with half the foot too.
To put my size 14 feet on every step fully and
then take the next step would be a waste of time.
I do when heading upstairs at work since the treads are unusually small. Plus the elevator is soooo slow in our building and I don't have the patience to wait for it (I work on the 2nd floor in my building). At home, it's about 50/50 for skipping or not skipping when I head upstairs. It changes to 0/100 in not skipping's favor when heading downstairs in all situations.
