Per my original topic, I need the .apk file for the aPen A3 (sold on tech.woot last weekend) because, per my original post, I don't have access to GooglePlay to download it myself, unless I root my KF. If somebody will but email it to me I can sideload it to my PocketEdge.

I know where the tech support page is for the product. They kindly link to their download on ... GooglePlay. To which I have no access unless I root my KF.

See my problem?

Link, per your request:

I just tried to grab the apk for you but it is not compatible with any of my rooted Android devices.

I have been planning to root my G2 (with which the app is compatible), but cannot do so before tomorrow night.

So... if you haven't found any other source for the apk by tomorrow evening (say 8PM eastern time), post a reply here (so I get an email), and send me a PM with your address. I'll root the G2 and onceI do, grab the apk and send it to you in an email.

Yeah, my one rooted Android device isn't compatible either. I've never been able to get my PocketEdge to load GP. I have a sinking feeling that if I can get the .apk it'll refuse to load on a non-phone device...

Update: I found the Quill app, which seems to be the opensource app on which all other digitizer interface apps are built. I have downloaded a variety of build versions, none of which will load on any of my Android-based gadgets. I think I'm not surprised, as I think I'm still running my VelocityMicro on 2.3, and my enTOURedge on something about as ancient.

I guess I can always jack this A3 pen thing into my netbook, provided any of the OEM PC software works on Win7 (won't hold my breath on that).

@baqui63: My rooted KF is also reported as "not compatible" when I try to grab the .apk from GP. Grrrr.

Shame on me for assuming anything that will interface with an Android phone will also interface with an Android tablet.

@aphroat:

Meh... just because it says its not compatible doesn't mean it's not. (The Hulu Plus app is a perfect example... it has worked perfectly well on all but one of my Android devices, even though it is only officially compatible with two of them.)

From the above, I take it that you got your hands on the A3 apk and no longer need it.

@baqui63: No, I haven't gotten the actual aPen A3 .apk, so if you are able to and will send it to me I'd appreciate it. PMing you my email addy now.

@baqui63: Ok, either I'm a dolt (possible) or Woot has disabled the messaging system.

50/50 - Figured out how to send a PM in general terms.

I could not download the file either. (Android too new) But http://www.filesnack.com/ should be an easy way to share it.

@aphroat:

Ok, email with attachment on its way to you. Good luck with it.
