When that question was first posed, @controler had a rep of 3/100. I see now that it's at 70/100. We must use our powers only for good.
My guess is that it'll drop back down though. I've seen those transitory changes before.

That came out MUCH more virtuous sounding than I meant it to be. Pity tone of voice doesn't come across when I type.
@shrdlu: I noticed that @controler was a green 70 before I commented there and a purple 76 after. Also, I didn't read that as virtuous at all. Your intent was very clear to me.
Edit: And it was more than funny; it was hilarious!
you know it probably didn't have anything to do with our comments but with the fact that he commented at all, it is strange but that was his only activity.

@bsalusa: Surely you must know that I tend to enjoy myself all the time. I noticed years ago that two people can have about the same kind of life, similar experiences, and so on, and that one will have a great life, and the other will be miserable. It's all in your outlook. It may sound simple and trite, but it's a fact. Every day is a new day, and I look forward to them all.
I cannot believe it, @controler has a rep of 80. He has 1 woot. His one question is his only interaction with deals.woot. That must be some woot of an algorithm. Apparently we are getting to watch the algorithm do its magic, in real time.
@bsalusa: Well, actually, it's not. I am silent on the matter, but sometimes biting my tongue gets exhausting, and I just have to turn away.
Still, it's far better than having nothing at all, and it's especially useful for a quick glance when looking at join date (today) voting ability (none) and then reputation (0/100). No, I am NOT speaking of Mr Controler [sic] but merely making a point. On a more interesting note, reputation might be temporarily gained in this way, but it will fall right back down unless the person continues to deserver it.
In other words, you may be able to temporarily game the system (to an extent), but over time, it will smooth out.
I'll add a comment here to attempt to push shrdlu's above 100.
@wootvan: Silly you. I actually tried voting down everything I'd said, unvoting things I've voter for, and so on, in an effort to affect this. Nope. I'm trapped.
I'm also trapped forever on the leaderboard. For a time I even thought about just disappearing into the woodwork, and coming back as someone else, but no, I just can't be quiet. There you have it.
@chris12345: Now that I think about it, I think it was 70 before I voted for the question and 76 after...
@shrdlu: yeah I was second on the leader board for a while and then I stopped living on this site and now I am third and pushing 4th on some of the stats. I will try to do better.
@sgoman5674: Yeah, about time someone made the attempt to dethrone me from the land of statistics I never wanted to rule. I have faith that you are the one.
I kinda wish woot had a profile page kinda like those on other websites so I can tell who is posting dumb stuff and people who are posting things legitimately. As shrdlu mentioned, I can't just rely on the deals.woot rating alone because of this.
