Why do my questions keep getting deleted?

Apparently, I keep asking the wrong questions, because they keep getting deleted. What are the rules on that?

this is the most up to date guide i know of. questions are generally only deleted if someone request it. so either it was tattled for being inappropriate or it was a duplicate. but in the last few days a lot of questions, deals, and post of all sorts have been deleted (like the first 8 hours of questions were all just wiped away).

One possible reason is you might be promoting your own deal by linking to it over here.
Or if you complain about someone else swearing, then do it yourself.
Or engage in hostile exchanges with others.
Could be anything...

Is this a recent thing? There was an issue yesterday about questions disappearing, and the glitch might not have been fully fixed just yet.

It was about people being verbally abusive and thinking its ok and that no moderators took note or did anything. It was just a few hours ago, but they got deleted within about 5 minutes and yet the people's posts that said the stuff are still there.

@gadgetgirl88: All but two of the original comments on that deal have been deleted by the staff. Please, next time, do not get into it with abusive users, but simply report/tattle on it.

@jsoko I saw that and was just told earlier in one of my deleted questions about the tattling, before it got deleted. However, the other discussion has multiple posts of a similar nature from tonight and I have tattled at least 3 times on it and the posts are still there. My questions get deleted for asking how someone can get away with this, but the posts of the person doing it are still there. How is that right? I don't mean to sound petty, if I do, it's just I believe there should be some modicum of respect towards other posters.

Mods don't get paged, then run sprinting to the keyboard when you tattle. It will get cleaned up, eventually. Just tattle and let it go.

@tsfich I didn't do it repeatedly within minutes, just whenever I checked back and it hadn't changed. I just figured if they could remove my questions/ comments about this so quickly, it shouldn't take them so long to delete those as well. They were very quick in the other discussion as well that's why I tattled more than once, but thanks for the info.

@gadgetgirl88: i have been told that mods start at the most recent tattle and work their way backwards thru them. don't know if its true, but something to consider in how many tattles have they gotten in the last few hours.

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
