Raspberry Pis will be shipping soon. What do you plan to do with yours?

I'm thinking about loading XBMC or possibly running a networked garage door opener/security setup. Does anyone out there have any other creative ideas?

Then I can add it to the stack of other microcontrollers and the like that I've purchased and never really built much of anything useful with.

I plan on hanging my board from a string in my garage and using that as my "guide" to know that I am in the garage all the way.

Then I may think about IT related uses for it

I am going to try it out as an Instrument controller (working in conjunction with a stepper motor control board) inside a Bio-Microscopy scanner.

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
