have you ever posted something for laughs?

this morning (4am) i started tattling then the site i was tattling went down for maintenance. so i sent a tattle asking if since you couldn't buy any of their stuff at current juncture does that mean all of that company's post were now expired. i do realize that this isn't the way it works, but i was hoping to give someone an unexpected chuckle at woot.

have you ever done this kind of thing to help some unknown person's mood?

it was walmart.com that went down for maintenance. so that would mean 414 pages of deals to be deleted.

I appreciate the humorous and quirky stuff, although it is obvious that there is a group of people here who don't. There will always be people that negatively comment on the fun stuff like a Triceratops, Maybach, etc. They seem to take the site way too seriously as if scouring the pages for deals is their job and funny stuff is forcing them to work overtime.

That being said, I do think the funny and quirky stuff can get out of hand. As long as it stays reasonable, I am all for it.

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
