I use turtle beach headsets for the Xbox 360 they're pretty good for first person shooters. Sometimes though when I walk around in the games I think someone's following me.

@gideonfrost: My problem with the Turtle Beaches is that the elastic band that holds them securely on my head snapped, and I had to constantly take them apart, re-thread the elastic, and re-sew it.

I have had the Turtle Beach X41 for a few months now, bought refurbished on Woot! and have had no problems at all so far.

I had a pair of Shakoon Xtatic for my PS3 and they were decent but broke after three months. I've recently purchased the Sony version of their wireless surround sound headphones and I'm perfectly happy with them.

If you have a PS3 I'd highly recommend them as they are seamlessly integrated with the system.

Razer Megladon. I love the way they sit on your head. After hours of gaming I forget im wearing them. I have a pair of Plantronics Gamescon headphones as well that are amped. Sound wise they are very close when the gamescon are amped. The problem is that the Gamescon headset is huge, and begins to give me a headache after a while. If you got the cash try and snag a Megladon (about $89 referb or $120 new) during a Woot-off, best item ive gotten from woot yet. Other wise grab a gamescon ($24) from Amazon + a Creative Xfi Go ($40) external soundcard, for a total of ~$65 . They turn any standard 2.0 headphones into Virtual Surround ones. Hope this helps
