Without version info (Outlook 2007? 2010?), all I can offer is that you can look in the View Menu settings.

@greenaccord: Where do I find the version info? I looked under View but didn't see anything that looked like it would fix this.

@ohcheri: That in itself is an answer. If you have Outlook (Office) 2010, to determine the version (just so we can verify) you have to go to the FILE menu selection and in the left menu will be HELP. In the reading pane would be something like: "Microsoft Office Professional 2010" or similar.

For older versions, the main menu will have HELP -> ABOUT and a dialog window will open with the version info.

Let's start there.

@greenaccord: OK, I'm going to look even dumber because it's not Outlook, it's Windows Live Mail, sorry!

@ohcheri: I'm going answer your question (I hope) first. Is there an INBOX link in the upper left under the HOTMAIL label?

@ohcheri: I'm still here because it's almost getting to be a case of finding out what the heck is happening!

Let's start over then. I guess I am presuming you're using a browser to view your @hotmail.com (or whatever Windows Live email you have) emails. Is that so?

Do you go to http://explore.live.com/windows-live-hotmail to get to your mail in a browser?

@greenaccord: I don't have a Hotmail account. I open my email from it's own window and it downloads all of my email at once. 4 different Comcast accounts and my 1and1.com email. I probably not explaining this well but I don't open a browser to access my email program.

@ohcheri: Ahhhh, OK, I see. You're using a program (probably free from Microsoft: Essentials?) to get all your pop3 mail. At his point, I have to resign myself to the admission that I don't use it.

If that's the program you're using (Windows Live Essentials?) maybe someone can help with that.

Sorry we had the back forth only to get to this point. :(

Here, see if this link helps. I am betting you're using the Outlook Express replacement application, Essentials.

@greenaccord: Yes, that's what my email looks like. I'll check this link and see if I can find my answer. Thank you!

I seem to remember that essentials have a View tab on the very top. Can you click on that and see if you can switch views there?

@greenaccord @sorensok: I figured it out, thank you so much for your help!

@ohcheri: What was it? Was it the Layout button in the upper right area of the app space?

vote-for1vote-against

@greenaccord: No, I grabbed the upper right corner and resized the screen, then I was able to use the Maximize and Restore Down function. I still don't know how it got resized in the first place but I'm glad it's fixed!
