What are some unique gifts for baby?

Some good friends of mine have had babies within the last year.

I'm looking for some unique baby gifts. Obviously a 1-year old won't really remember gifts yet... but would like some good gift ideas for the holidays or upcoming year 2 birthdays.

Any suggestions appreciated!

One of those kits where you can make a cast of their little hand. Not a hand print, but a 3D cast.
