Have you ever seen your house in a snow globe?
Someone at work sent this to me. It's very cool, but kind of scary. Don't forget to include your full address with city and state.

Is this some creepy way to find out where we all live?
So, they're showing a frame from streetview (or "satellite" if not available) behind a snow animation and a lens effect ... interesting.
@eraten: It looks like it's all client-side javascript. i.e. the only thing that's getting your address is your browser.
For added fun, try putting in an address that has internal streetview data, such as a museum, train station, or, maybe, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. :)
Which makes the assumption that your home is on street view....
A satellite shot just isn't very interesting.
Try things like "your face" or "your mom" or "ball town usa"...
I find it interesting that they don't site where they're getting the images from. Google should sue fo' sho.
@bsmith1: This close, they always look like landscape. But nope, you're looking at balls.

@eraten: How else is Santa going to bring you your stuff? Has he missed your house in the past? This is why.
Fun link - thanks! Especially amusing to me since I live in Central Florida. Snow on palm trees? :-/ BTW: I think the photos are from your local County Property Records - they are in the public domain.
@gmwhit: You know I respect and appreciate you, but it's taking the pictures from google's maps and streetview services. You can see it in their code.
For anyone interested, it's right here:

"But for those less fortunate, we've made a donation to the Coalition for the Homeless on your behalf."
Awwww...... I liked it, and I'll share it. Thanks for posting it!
@psaux: I bow to your superior knowledge. :-) The photo I viewed seemed like the same one on the records site. I wonder if that (google) is where Zillow gets theirs, too?
I tried my neighbor's house, and it didn't show up. That being said, I am putting on my tinfoil hat and retiring from this question.
@jsimsace: How odd. I tried your neighbor's house & found it quite nice. BTW: The tin-foil hat is flattering to you. Do believe you'd look better if you bent the brim down...a more rakish look, you know?
@gmwhit: What a coincidence! I checked your neighbor's house and the snow feature didn't work....maybe it's the temps? I think I need a couple more beers to get to rakish though. ;)
@jsimsace: Wanna know something funny? I secretly laughed when you said you checked your neighbor's house. That's exactly what I did. I mean, I checked my neighbor's house. Paranoid about putting in my own address? Well, probably. Anyway, it was a lovely photo - it really looks like that. And, it did have snow falling on their palm trees.
Hands @jsimsace a couple of Bud Light Platinum's. (Left over from when a workman was here.) Bend that brim down now! ;-)
heh, this is pretty cool! Thanks.
Agree with the above that it pulls from Google, also, it's way better if you actually have Street view...kinda lame with just a satellite image...
It's pretty cool, but did I just add myself to hundreds of junk mailing lists?
Keep getting this error:
We apologize for the Apple/Adobe conflict in using this browser. Please try again in any other browser.
LOL. I click OK and the site works just fine.
I try random foreign address in and it works too.
It's pretty awesome! But quite scary... and I'm really wonder if they are actually keeping our addresses?
@gmwhit: Not quite on the same page of the Paranoia 101 handbook as you...Google street view for my address hasn't been updated since before we built here. :) Now that I know you pay your workmen with beer, what else do you need done around there? I'm very good at cleaning pipes. ◔_◔
