I'm in a similar boat, and want to work in the garage for father's day. I doubt it will happen though.

I've got a couple of projects that I want to finish, with the ultimate goal of making half of the garage a man cave game room.

I still need to:
1) Clean it out (throw out more junk or put stuff in the attic / basement or toolshed storage)
2) patch up some holes / paint
3) hang up some signs / posters
4) repair some arcade machines (I only have 5 of 8 machines running). On one machine, I need to gut everything to convert it into a Mame cabinet.

I'll be lucky to get 1, 2 and 3 done with one day free. Number 4 is really just a long-term thing.

I would love to spend sometime with my granddaughter, and I am hoping that my wife has an excellent time visiting her dad out of town... couldn't ask for a better father in law, terrific guy...

I get Father's Day weekend with my daughter, and that's enough...

Firing up the smoker and waiting for the approval from my three year old when she first smells the meat..............Daddy, Daddy, that smells so goooooooooooooood!

Ties and ashtrays. At least, I figure that's what I'm getting as payback for all the years I did it to my own dad.

I need a new electric razor, and hair clippers. But, since I didn't mention to my wife or daughter that I need these, I likely won't get them :-)

As a Dad, we want TOOLS!!!! Just buy something we'll exchange it for something else if it's not correct.

@jimrob27: I bought my husband tools for this Father's Day. He then informed me he had to have the RV we have been looking at in order to store said tools. I bought a 200 pc. mechanics set and a set of screw drivers from Sears, because Snap-On is just too damned expensive.

@pyxientx: Sears tools are great, you did just fine.

On a follow up note to my earlier post, I have been informed that without a doubt I will have a half day to spend with my granddaughter on Father's Day. Yay for me!

I just want a good night's sleep. I can't recall the last time I woke up feeling completely relaxed.

A nice 2 pound loin of RAW AHI Tuna - let me cut it and serve 3 different ways.

That would be a most excellent Father's Day for me.

I'm going camping by special request! WOO HOO!

I didn't want to spend the weekend holed up at the house with my folks as we all stare at each other and my folks watch golf on TV and then go out to dinner. I get to do that enough.

I really want a cordless drill, U-handle weedeater, new bearings in the rear of my van, recharged a/c in the van, target pistol, stripes for my car, etc etc etc.

None of those things will really matter later. Going camping with the kiddos will rock!

I'm hoping to have my 3 kids here safely and enjoy lunch with my dad. I'm that way. Anything else to me is superficial.

I sent my dad some cookies and a nice note, but I know he'd rather me come visit. I'm a couple thousand miles away now and he's been increasingly mushy when I talk to him on the phone lately. Makes me (a little) homesick.
