Are smart phones going down in popularity?
With all the "new" limited data plans are people choosing to go with the older style nonsmart phones? Are we heading back to the days where cell phones were only carried and used by those with wealth?
Verizon seems to think they are leading the industry with the new tier pricing plan that goes live later this month. From what ive seen they will not grandfather people in once this happens and those that have been grandfathered in have only bought themselves a little time.
Nah, smartphones are going to stay. People have gotten so used to them that anything different is bad. Some will likely drop their data plans and get regular cell phones, some will only use the internet when they have a Wi-Fi connection and there will likely be some that continue on using data past their limit and throw a huge hissy fit when they get their bill.
Yeah it's not the smart phones we're dropping, it's the expensive data.
I switched my Droid from Verizon to Page Plus a few months ago and I'm paying $8 per month instead of $80. My phone is still my phone, mp3 player, video player, calculator, navigator, notepad, gaming device, etc, minus the always-on internet.
I still have a Motorola Razr. There are few of us left.
