If you were going to build your own Home Theater PC what would be your specifications?

Quiet! Above all else, it has to be quiet.
Beyond that, you honestly don't need all that much horsepower, HD video, even at 1080p is not all that challenging for even a couple generations old video card.
I personally have an nVidia Ion powered Atom based MoBo running XBMC on Linux. Works fairly well. 8GB RAM, MiniITX, PicoPSU with a small power supply (similar to a laptop). Oh, and 3 2TB hard drives running in a RAID-5 Array, for a total of 4TB of storage, and a small 30GB SSD for the OS.
