I find a little kid (preferably 5-10 years old) and offer him/her 50 cents to do it.

Works every time.

The rare time (every 5 or so years) that we get enough snow that it must be shoveled, by hand. In Oklahoma, a snowblower is just impractical cause we are lucky to get more than 3 inches a year (Last 3 years or so not withstanding.)

Luckily Lower Alabama doesn't get much.

It does, however, stop traffic when it does fall.

Both ... Depends on the amount and Type of snow...

I used to shovel by hand but I got a Toro power shovel this year and it's saved me a lot of backache. It's not a full featured snowblower - it's electric and blows snow about 20 feet ahead of it rather than off to the side - but it cleared my driveway just fine when we had a sudden six-inch snowfall last month.

Hand. It's not that bad since we rarely get more than enough to handle without a shovel.

What is this 'snow' stuff you speak of?

I think I'm one of the few in my neighborhood (TX) to have an actual snow shovel. It's a relo from my WA state days.

I'm trying to remember... ;)

Always by hand in the past, though I haven't been required to clear snow for over 15 years, except for my car. Regardless, I actually enjoy it when it isn't too bad, so I've generally done it for my landlords and with my condo's maintenance guy over the years.

And then last Fall, my condo bought a fancy new snowblower (red!) so that we wouldn't have any snow this year. (I have mixed feelings about this, since I was looking forward to playing with it, though I'm happy I didn't have to dig out my car at all.)

Both, we have 2 snow blowers (one on a garden tractor) and shovels. We can't get close enough to the house with the snow blower alone. We also have about a 1/4 mile driveway and there's NO WAY that's being done by hand.

Ahh, the joys of country living in the upper Midwest.

We had about an ince of snow over Christmas Week in 1989; it pretty much shut down the entire city. We all just hunkered down till it melted a couple of days later.

By hand. The worst or most , however you want to look at it was about 6 years ago when we had 2 storms in a 5 day period. The first was 28 inches then 5 days later 34 inches, fun, fun.

In single digit temps, snow is light and dusty. I use a broom.

I use a tractor and shovel. I've never used a snow blower.

We did the best thing possible, move out of MN!

Both.
Sometimes a broom will do it.
