How do you like to eat Jelly Bellys?
Do you eat just the individual ones you like? Do you take the time to mix-n-match the flavors? Or, do you just throw a handful into your mouth and see what you end up with?
Individually so I can know what flavor it is.
Especially juicy pear! It's like eating the fruit, minus nutritional content.
But if I'm feeling super crazy, I do mix a few together as well.
MMMMMMMM jelly belly!
I usually take small handfuls, and toss a random 3 or 4 in the head-blender and see what it tastes like. But, sometimes I do like to choose two at a time to see what certain flavors mix like... but, usually it is random :-)
I usually eat 'em one at a time. But if there's a flavor I don't care for, I'll mix it with another one to see if it becomes more palatable (and it usually does).
I'm not too fond of just-sweet candies, I like super-sour, caramel or chocolate much better. But I like to take the Buttered Popcorn Jelly Bellies to the movie theater to eat when I am dieting as I love movie popcorn and I hate sitting there smelling it and being unable to have any. The Buttered Popcorn Jelly Bellies taste almost exactly like the popcorn smells, so I don't feel so unhappy to pass on the popcorn. I'd like to buy a variety with only the candy shell, though, as I don't like the jelly in the middle much. Or at least make the jelly less sweet and maybe a bit salty to continue the popcorn theme.
ONE AT A TIME.
I pick out the ones I don't like.
@moondrake: Take little packets of salt w/you - the kind you get w/to-go food. Put the salt in your hand, toss some jelly bellys in your mouth; follow those w/the salt in your hand. ;-)
@eeekdageek: What do you do with them? My wife takes the ones she doesn't like, and just gives them to me. Sometimes, I'll find a small pile of licorice flavored ones waiting for me.
Okay I know this sounds weird, but I get some Reese's Pieces and pair one with each Jelly Belly. The peanut butter goes great with the sweet sugar. I have not found a flavor combination yet that I do not enjoy when doing this. Try it some time.
@kmeltzer: That's kind of what I do I give them to my wife she likes most of them, and she leaves me the black licorice too.
In days of old, I used to lob the black ones at my brother's head. I don't miss jellybeans these days, but every once in awhile I get a craving for Lemonheads.
I never buy em because they are too expensive. Damn rich people candy.
My favorite flavors were always the cactus pear and the watermelon though.
With a knife and fork. Using a spoon is so gauche.
@portezbie: I'm rich! I'm rich! Who knew? :-D
@barnabee: LOL Since I'm "rich" eating them w/a spoon is not considered gauche. It's the absolute latest, socially correct way to eat them. Everyone will soon be using the silver spoon they were born w/to eat lbs. of jelly bellys.
@gmwhit: Just as long as I can continue to use MY silver knife and fork. ;) (stated with my nose regally placed high in the air)
Day after Easter is Deal Day on Jelly Beans and time to stock up....
