Haven't decided yet. I may wait a little until the initial bugs are worked out. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

I do not follow it that close, and the people who do told me to get Android on it months ago. Is CM9 dual bootable? I will when it is.

Once CM9 is on it the CM9 updates will be easy.

I think a OS update will break the dual boot... Need some verification.

I jumped on CM7.5 Alpha and immediately regretted it. CM7.0 was relatively stable and I had a high level of success with it. I'm going to give this one a few weeks to ripen.

I used 7 for a little while. But the more I use WebOS the more I like it. We will see, there is only one app I use often enough from android that WebOS doesnt have.

This was posted in an earlier forum, but to answer:

I did, i followed this link to install it, just substituted the files for CM9 and ACMEInstaller2, with Gapps

So far so good. there is some instability with programs cutting off at random, but not much of a nuisance for me.

gripe: Just want Netflix to work!

I'm going to install it as soon as the touchpad gets in my cold fingers. The YouTube video linked above is good, just take notes while its running so that you know where to go to get the necessary files.

That said, I'm going to give WebOS a good wringing out also.

This isn't going to be an entertainment machine for me; it's going to be my virtual classroom window (which means it needs to handle Office documents, .pdfs, Kindle/Nook e-books, and .wmv video files). This, along with my Kindle DX for the books, is what I need to survive on the road while pursuing a master's degree (I hope) rather than a heavy laptop plus the books plus the class notes etc. etc... An iPad-based solution would cost three times as much, and not be very flexible.

Alright, it's a few months later, but I just did the Android thing on the TP I got from Woot! in January, this past weekend.

I'm using Alpha 2.0 and I'm pretty happy with the apps, spent almost all day yesterday finding fun free stuff to put on it.

The first Alpha I put on it was 0.6 and Netflix didn't run right, but I posted on webosnation forums and was advised to update. Worked like a charm.

Seriously, the most frustrating part of adding Android to it was downloading the files I needed. Stupid IE. I ended up using FireFox.

I'm so happy with it I'm considering getting some prepaid data plan for it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
