Most economical Blu-ray choice (must stream Amazon)?
Hi all
Following up on my earlier question about streaming Amazon, I decided I am going to get a blu ray instead of a Roku. (Why not get the extra functionality since it doesn't seem like there is a huge difference in price?) So, on that thread people were recommending Panasonic and Sony. Any particular models that people like? Anything else I should keep in mind when I get this?
Things to keep in mind:
1. Must be WiFi ready out of the box
2. Must stream Amazon as well as Netflix
3. Extra credit if it shows only Downton Abbey (ok, not really but I am in a bit of a DA haze this morning.)
Anything else I should be thinking about?
Amazon actually has a section set up for answering this specific question:

WOW @meikat THANKS!
I totally hadn't though of googling the question myself until your response! Gosh, why should I get the opinions of knowledgeable people here who have been helpful in the past when I go straight to the merchant for their completely unbiased opinion!!!
We've got a Vizio VRB122 that came with the wireless adapter. Picked it up at Walmart for about $100 out the door.
The BD 210 from Panasonic will do what you need, gets very good reviews and is known for a quality build... it is currently selling on Amazon for $139. I have had several Panasonic, Samsung and Sony bluray players and have never had one Panasonic that failed to please or fail to operate correctly... It is worth paying a few extra dollars for, IMHO...
I have a lesser Panasonic player (the DMP-BD60) and I can vouch for the reliability and quality of their Blu-ray units. Mine also has excellent up-conversion and will output in all the desirable formats (24p video, lossless audio via bitstream or PCM).
