We Picked a Name

I asked for name suggestions for our new kitty a few days ago and we have decided. Thanks to all for the name suggestions. We have decided to name him Despereaux after the book/movie character because he seems to display a naive sense of fearlessness. We have another cat that is 12 years old and adores my wife, but pretty much grudgingly tolerates everyone else. So she hisses at Despereaux a lot and he seems immune. He displays no aggressiveness but he will walk up her and she will be just going nuts and he just sits there, no pinned back ears, no hissing, after a few minutes she will walk away and still he will sit there, and after awhile he will move close again and just sit there as she goes nuts. We also liked the irony of giving a cat the name of a mouse. The other close considerations were marshmallow since he does resemble a toasted marshmallow and smudge. Thanks again for the suggestions and we are loving having him around.

Great name! Looks like Despereaux likes it, too. He's now sitting tall and proud (with maybe just a little bit of worry about what is going to happen next?).

Excellent name! It gave me a start, at first, as our boat is named Desperadeaux! I bought the Despereaux book for DH when it was first published just for the similarity. Lovely kitty!

He certainly looks like he's settling in well. Give him lots of kitty snuggles from me! He looks like such a great boy!
