Christmas - I like Christmas eve in Sarajevo by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Chanukkah - The South Park Dreidle Song.

@hobbit: What a wonderful question! I'm trying to narrow down the list of holiday favorites, but one of them absolutely has to be (not sure this is the title) "Over the River and Through the Woods". I love every kind of holiday music you can think of. I'm going to sleep on it, and see if I can come up with just a very short list.

@sgoman5674: My most favorite Chanukkah song ever I've only heard by Peter Paul and Mary, but it's haunting:

Wizards in Winter - Trans-Siberian Orchestra overtook Little Drummer Boy for me about 2 years ago.

@sgoman5674: My kids love that stupid SP song. Of course, hearing that one always encourages some one to break out into a few verses of "Mr. Hanky."

While not a traditional holiday tune, I've always been partial to "Snow," from "White Christmas." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rf71RsyT52c

Other Non-traditional songs:
"Baby, It's Cold Outside"
"Please Come Home For Christmas"
"Santa Baby"

We still play our Perry Como Christmas album along with our Nat King Cole, Sinatra and Crosby albums as well. I'd give anything to be able to buy the old fashion Shiny Brite and Merry Brite ornaments like my grandparents used to hang on their tree. I've scouted them on eBay. Wow.

The Charlie Brown Christmas album is great too.

edit: SIXTY DAYS???? HOLY HOLLY BERRIES!!!

There have been countless versions and variations on Greensleeves, but if it's done well, it still gives me the shivers. I just have a strong tie to that because of familial heritage... Pretty much anything by the Trans-Siberian is nice.

I'll have to think more on this though - Christmas seems to have sneaked around the corner and taken me by surprise, even more so than usual this year.

More songs to my list later!

I have a favourite CD which I bought two years ago - Paul Byrom I'll Be Home for Christmas http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/paulbyromxmas it is currently out of stock but I know he just sent more in. My favourite song on there is A Winter's Tale, I really like Tim Rice's work.

My new CD - well Ave Maria which isn't even really a Holiday song is quickly becoming a favorite and trust me I HATED that song with a passion greater than one will ever know.

Carol of the bells has always been my favorite, done by almost anybody.

This 3 disc set is something I grew up with and really 'makes' christmas for me each year: http://www.christmaslpstocd.com/shop/index.php?app=ccp0&ns=prodshow&ref=xmasthruyears_readersdigest it is a mix of classics (Bing Crosby's I'll Be Home For Christmas), silly/non-traditional (Feliz Navidad, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus), & some that I've never heard anywhere else, though that may just be me (Dennis Day's Christmas in Killarney, Stan Freberg's Nuttin' For Christmas)

If you come across a used copy of this set, definitely buy it. It is a great mix that covers all the moods of christmas.

@shrdlu: Not a fan. I grew up loving "Light One Candle" by them.

@lavikinga: The only reason I like the song is my friends and I would sing a different character's part. We always argued over who would sing Cartman's and Kyles father's part. Not a fan of the show but sometimes they come up with some good stuff.

@theoneill555: Wizards of winter is also awesome. I assume you have seen the house light videos?

@hobbit: 101 days (September 15th). And yes, I am counting.

I really like Christmas music. Wizards in Winter is one of my favorites. The best CD I have is one that the instrument is water glasses.

Traditional - Hark the Herald, While Sheppard Watched Their Flocks By Night,

Non-Traditional - I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, Christmas is Coming (SNL Horatio Sanz)

However, I listen to an album called Behold the Lamb of God by Andrew Peterson repeatedly every Christmas season. It's absolutely stellar.

@lavikinga: The Charlie Brown x-mas album by the Vince Gauraldi Trio is a must!
