Where can I sell a HDD of mine from a laptop that took a dump on me?
It has Win7 Pro and Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student installed. It is from an Acer AOD255E Netbook.
really your only options are craigslist and ebay.
the pre-installed files aren't really useful to anyone that wants to use the drive. However, if you can retrieve the product keys from the drive, then the programs might actually be worth something (you'd most likely have to reinstall the programs anyway though).
Try listing it on Ebay or Craigslist, but don't count on getting much for the programs you're including
If installed in the same or a very similar model the machine should boot with no problem and all software would be usable... Different chip-sets and CPUs in many cases will cause Windows OS to freak out and ask you to call a MS Customer service line for reactivation...
Technically, the licensing for Windows ties it to a machine. It isn't supposed to be transferee to another computer. Office, on the other hand, is no problem but I would think someone would want the installation key and media more than your pre-installed hard drive. IMHO.
