I tried to order this drive. The price shown is $249.99 but when tried to order - the price shown is $279.00. And this was directed to Tiger Direct.com. I want to order this drive at $249.99. This is what it is showing:

You probably clicked on an expired deal or one that should be expired. The copy you included says "Price only good today.". If the deal isn't expired and only old, tattle on it so a mod can expire it.
EDIT: If it was this deal, it's already been expired. That is why there is a "RIP" underneath the vote count and a bird (crow ?) above.
I assume that you're referring to this deal it is expired, that is what the "RIP" indicator means.
Also it's always good to ask these questions in the product thread itself. :)
Deals.woot doesn't sell anything, it just shows deals from around the web that users post. If you're searching, pay attention to the date it was posted and if it has a RIP where the voting would go. If this is the case or it's an old deal, don't expect to get that price. If you find something that's expired, it would help everyone out if you could tattle it.
Short answer is that you missed the price, though.
