Do you think the ban on Simpsons toys will effect ratings of the 500th episode?
While thousands of Americans are preparing to fete The Simpsons’ 500th episode, officials in Iran are hoping to be rid of Marge, Homer, Lisa, Bart and Maggie forever. The Middle East nation has banned all toys bearing the likeness of the animated characters.

The ban was made public Monday as Mohammed Hossein Farjoo, the secretary for policy-making at the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, shared the announcement with Sharq, a local newspaper.
“The Simpsons dolls are merchandise from an animated series, of which some episodes are even banned in Europe in America,” Farjoo explained. “We do not want to promote this cartoon by importing the toys.”
Seeing as the ban is in Iran, I don't think it should have much of an effect.
To bad for Iran. More toys for us.
If they only banned the toys and not the show then I would say no, it prob won't hurt the ratings. The people that watch it are still going to watch it probobly, hell, they might get higher ratings now that's the toys are banned. Make people feel like they are bad ass or something.
