For me, a good case that is sturdy in a typing position or an upright movie position. And which provides adequate protection in my bag.
i'm also glad i bought a case, or skin. my tablet was cracking on the edges where the speakers are, and the thick case i got for it has a grip on the back and keeps the cracks from spreading further. i preferred not having a case, but it became necessary unfortunately
A case and screen protector is a must. Extra charge/sync cords, microsd cards, earphones, cleaning cloths, and hdmi cables make it easier, but can be bought whenever they are on sale.
I suggest an executive rooCASE (cheapest last week was Amazon)and SkinTech screen protector from Skinomi (if you have the patience and time for research).
A high quality screen protector first. Then if you want, a nice case with keyboard. Also a cleaning cloth. And, if your don't have it for other things already, a wireless router.
A glass of water. It helps it go down a lot easier.
But on a more serious note, I think a case is a must have. Keeps things clean.
Being one of those who ordered one of the refurbed 32GB HP TPs over on Woot! a couple of weeks ago, the first thing I ordered next was a case. Then some other Wooter was kind enough to post an accessory bundle over on eBay. Now, I'll have two cases!
Besides the above-mentioned case, I find having a rubber-tipped stylus very handy, especially when eating.
Like the other posters, I'd say a case is the thing that brings the most value to me. Adds some protection and functionality (if it has the stand feature). Good investment.
I'd also say an extra micro-USB/mini-USB/whatever connector it uses is great. I keep one at my desk at all times, and have one that goes everywhere with me.
