Should I get a sound bar for my tv?
So I just got a new flatscreen and as is often the case, the built-in speakers are terrible. Now with my last tv I had these computer speakers that I was using to enhance the sound and they were ok but far from ideal. These are the speakers I currently have:

the problem is my new tv strangely only has optical audio out, no analog whatsoever. Unfortunately I am also really broke after buying the tv so my options are very limited, otherwise I would love to buy a receiver and respectable speaker set up. With my current cash I think I can afford two things:
A optical to analog converter:
or a refurbed vizio sound bar:

The sound bar has optical audio so I wouldn't need a converter, but will it be better? Also, how risky is it getting a refurb from tiger direct?
Thanks!
I would go with the sound bar if it were me, if you can find the relisting for it. I've purchased from Tiger Direct before, no problems and it's manufacturer refurbed. I haven't had any problems with refurbs either.
The converter is $25 less and you end up with an analog signal which may mean nothing to most ears. If it will work with the speaker setup you have you can save $25.
thanks for the first hand account. I think I want to go with the sound bar because I want it to be better, I just hope it actually will be. I think it will though.
I would buy from Newegg over Tiger Direct: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882262004
@portezbie: I have a Vizio 200 soundbar, it will be much better.
