Have you had anything shipped from the UK?
I know it's not exactly woot related but, I pre-ordered the Harry Potter years 1-7 Blu-Ray sets from amazon.co.uk that's been posted in deals.woot a few times. It shipped today, and I was just curious if anybody else had ordered anything from amazon.co.uk, or anywhere in the UK for that matter and had it shipped to the U.S., and about how long can I expect it to take being shipped to Oregon? It was shipped out via Royal Mail with no tracking number

I had an item shipped from the UK to Seattle and it took about a week and a half. I expected it to take much longer.
It is probably a good thing Amazon.UK can't sell certain things to the US, I would spend boatloads of money.
i have. it was delivered by a chimney sweep. he was dancing the entire time, and made me sit through a musical number before he'd let me have my package
My concern would be if the format was NTSC or PAL.
Royal Mail is like first class and can take 3-4 weeks. Not cool that they didn't use a method that provides tracking.
I hope it won't take 3-4 weeks, I'm thinking that only time will tell. I'm hoping for about a week or two tops. The estimated arrival date is Dec 20th, which I'm hoping is just an exaggerated 'just in case' date
@ojulius they are region free blu ray discs. I've read that NTSC and PAL are obsolete when it comes to blu-ray anyway. I'm not too worried about them not playing because past Harry Potter region free discs have played fine for people in the U.S.
(when I say "Region Free", they are actually coded for all three regions A, B and C)
@gamer4life18: Thanks for enlightening me. Not being too familiar with blue ray, I wasn't aware of the region info.
@gamer4life18: I'm also waiting for mine, did the same pre-order special. I did order the Planet Earth from them about a year ago, and it was fine, I got a shipping confirmation email when it shipped and it arrived in about 1.5 weeks. Here's to hoping we both get our boxed sets soon!
@turtlegir1 Cheers to that!
Ooo... Royal mail? Sorry to hear that.
(It's a bit like SmartPost, but uses RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) and trebuchets; they tried to do tracking some time ago, but the guys running the trebuchets kept setting the forms on fire so they stopped offering tracking as an option.)
I am giving my best friend a Scottish Christmas. I am buying him one square foot of Scottish land, which officially makes him a Laird. He has a utilikilt, so I am giving him a leather sporran embossed with celtic knotwork, a pair of kilt hose (the long wool socks worn with kilts) and a damascus steel Sgain Dubh (a Scottish dagger). I ordered all this stuff in the first week of November from different UK sites and it is all here already.
This laird thing is pretty cool, it's a clever way of getting funding to protect historic sites in Scotland. And if you can get over there, it actually entitles you to access the grounds, go fishing on the property, and a broadleaf tree is planted in your honor. They give you a nice presentation packet so you have something to wrap. It's a great gift for the friend that has everything.

I don't know if anybody will check this since it's 5 days old, but...
It arrived today, which totally surprised me! I was not expecting it to be THAT fast! I can't even get things this fast from some companies here in the states!
So just thought I would update this question with an answer, and the answer is it took only 5(!!!!) days to get to Oregon from the UK.
Are you able to order Amazon Prime from AmazonUk? If so is shipping still free?
