Challenge: When is the next GREAT time to buy a camera...since I missed cyberMonday?

Not in a hurry. Just want a great deal on a small Canon or Nikon. When should I start hunting again?

Cyber Monday was bleh. Deals pop up throughout the year anyways.

I would consider other brands... I have a 5ish year old Panasonic Lumix that has terrible image stabilization when its zoomed beyond 3x. I need to get better (not blurry) close up shots of my kids during dance and school performances. I'm also dizzy with trying to analyze features vs cost. Any recommendations for something in the $100 - $200 range would be appreciated.

EASY to use (kids sometimes snatch it) Moderately durable, 10+megapixels, 12x zoom seems good. HD not a must, but video capable is, Auto focus and image stabilization. Any recommendations for something in the $100 - $200 range would be appreciated.

Have you checked Craigslist and the like? You do have to be careful but there are legitimate people selling things that were gifts or that were ill-considered impulse buys.
