Why no love for cheap jewelry deals?
It seems like cheap jewelry gets down-voted frequently, What gives?
It's just costume jewelry like my mom and your mom used to get at sears or wherever... Now it's Rhodium plated silver with odd stones instead of pot metal and fake pearls in the shape of insects or leaves or what was popular that year.
I know my wife will but cheap pieces on occasion to get just the perfect set of earrings to match a dress or blouse. I bet yours does too if you are a guy and I bet most of the women out there do too.
So what is it? shady sellers? I haven't noticed misrepresentation...
There shouldn't be moral objections like there are with guns and lingerie
besides turning your skin green, most of the cheap stuff contains toxic chemicals or heavy metals and is made in China where there are few if any safety standards.
Throw in typically over-priced shipping and "90% off msrp!!!!!" headlines, and you see where the hate comes from.
Can't prove or disprove the "chemicals" etc. comment. I can say, without a doubt, most all of it is UGLY.
What they ↑↑↑↑↑↑↑ said says it all.
the amount of jewelry from china containing lead or the more prevalent CADMIUM is disturbing...
nearly all of it comes from china.

cadmium is commonly used to make inexpensive metals, like those used in costume jewelry, look shiny.
Hmmm. Three brand new accounts, held by folks for whom English is a second language, all posting here to defend Chinese jewelry sites. And two of the three have (here or on other threads) thrown URLs for the same Chinese website into the only comment they've made, oddly enough both using tinyurl to mask the site's address.
Sock, sock, and sock?
@videowallart: There's a difference between "fashion" (aka "costume") jewelry and "fine" jewelry. I buy a fair amount of fashion/costume jewelry; it's often seasonal and sometimes faddish; it's not expensive, I may well toss it out next year, and it doesn't try to be something it isn't. What we mostly see advertised here is possibly risky fashion jewelry being hyped as if it were fine jewelry, complete with over-the-top MSRP notations and outrageous statements about how much the seller is discounting the price..
It's not really just a matter of semantics when someone offers "cheap" jewelry instead of "inexpensive" jewelry.
Wow, I sure messed-up. I thought some of the cheap jewelry was cute. I didn't realize how into things some of you are. I'm just a country pumpkin but have been on this site since it's inception and have learned so much from y'all. I want to thank everyone for my newfound knowledge.
