I will eat one of my stashed Twinkies in celebration.

I was never a fan of Twinkies either but I loved Chocodiles!

I'm not a Twinkie connoisseur either but yes, as it's a food icon. $410M is a lot and that there weren't any bidders might mean that was on the high side.

Nutty Bar fan here. When I was a kid I wouldn't eat school lunch food and I wouldn't eat sandwiches, there was a pretty long list of what I wouldn't eat. I was a genuinely picky eater and would rather go hungry than eat anything I didn't want. So my grandmother packed me a lunch consisting of a can of vienna sausages, a snack sized bag of chips, and a Nutty Bar every day for pretty much my whole childhood. After that my favorite was Ding Dongs.

Apparently they got "stuck" with the winning bid. From the article: "Their offer was to serve as the minimum offer for the business but no other bidders emerged." It looks like they got all the cake products. I'm curious as to whether they are a union shop or not. I'm thinking they are not unionized as the article refers to them as a family business with a private equity group along for the ride.

I loved Twinkies as a kid but don't really like them anymore. Now I'm more of an oatmeal creme pie or Star Crunch fan.

Dang it, I KNEW I should have bid $410 million and a penny!

What was that crashing sound? Oh yeah, the eBay Twinkie market.

I'm glad that I didn't buy the Twinkie kits people are selling. :)

I was never crazy about Twinkies either, but I can't turn down raspberry Zingers.

I can't keep Nutty Bars in the house. In fact, the family is forbidden to ever bring a box home. Once I start eating them, I'd rather eat those than any other food. It's an addiction.

Do not care, like the OP. I do not think I have ever purchased any Hostess junk food.

@jsimsace: Totally agree on the zingers. My god, how I want them now. I like all 3, the vanilla, the raspberry and the chocolate. I'd be happy with any of them getting brought back.

I bought some knock-off cupcakes and they were pretty similar, but there will only be one Zinger

Another vote for Zingers, though I've never seen the raspberry ones.

TastyKakes or Entenmann's FTW - I never liked Hostess or Little Debbie stuff

When they return I will eat a package of Hostess Cupcakes (chocolate) and a fruit pie in celebration. Maybe more.

Ew no. Why would they do that to us.

Give me Zingers or give me death!
