i don't think it's a 'summer' song, but this one has been stuck in my head (much to my chagrin):

It seems like this song has been playing on the radio everywhere I've been lately, and I'm still at the stage where I can't get it out of my head yet I still like it.

"I will wait, I will wait for you" has been a constant backdrop in my head for weeks. I like this Mumford and Sons song, both the lyrics and the melody, but I could live without hearing it over and over again as a soundtrack for my life.

@moondrake: I was just coming here to say the exact same thing. I hope the song doesn't get ruined for me, just saw them in concert too

@finzup: Yeah, I was thinking of blurred lines as well.

This must be the place - talking heads

I think Blurred Lines is going to be the winner on this one.
Honorable mentions for "Stay" and "Get Lucky"
Solution: buy four albums of Cake, stop listening to the radio.

Blurred Lines for me as well.
I know you want it, I know you want it, I know you want it.

Every summer has one pop song that is played at such horrible repetition to be unavoidable. I though this summer's song would be the one where the girl keeps telling us about crashing her car into a bridge, but that seems to have already fallen away.

@lparsons42: They are still playing that one endlessly here. But while I like the tune the lyrics are annoying and none of it resonates enough to stick with me. Pop songs rarely get into my head, the bouncy stuff never stays with me like something more soulful will. My method of escaping the soundtrack in my head: Turn off the radio and sing my favorite songs in the car for a couple of days. Remembering the lyrics and tunes clears my head of other songs.

This song is spinning endlessly on the radio stations where I live. I knew all the words by heart before I even knew who the artist was. :)

i've never been happier to have Sirius... I rarely even listen to the music channels, and when i do, it's stuff from the '90's. 85% of the time, i'm listening to comedy. 10% Nascar, 5% music from the '90's.

@dexelflot: So disappointed to find that this wasn't a rickroll.

I might be the only person in America who hasn't heard Blurred Lines yet. Judging from the complaints here I'm better off! For me the song of the summer is Get Lucky. One of the few earworms that I actually enjoy.

@bls1: Nope, not just you. I hadn't heard it either.

The song I do keep hearing is Default, by Django Django. Very annoying song.

Radio's been playing songs from previous summers (Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream for example) so I haven't really heard one that's a keeper. I've had songs from the show I've been working stocking the mental radio.
