Looks like I missed out on it. Again. sigh

I may have gotten one. I got in and was watching the order processing widget thingy spin for a while and got bored after about five minutes and refreshed the page... now I'm just getting web pages showing a snowflake in a blizzard.

No confirmation email yet, and it hasn't shown up on My Account either (though I cannot get the My Account page to load, so who knows?)

If I got one, great. If not, meh...

Edit: just got the confirmation email, so it looks like I got one, unless they take it away from me.

I got to the big yellow button 4 times and got some error 503 or some BS. I was so excited too when the first window pulled up so fast and the 2nd one went even faster. So heartbroken to see the 503 error after all that speedy loading.

I hit the gold button...twice! Kept giving me some kind of time-out message. Really frustrating because I finally made sure I had everything just right before I hit the gold button, but I still missed out!

I had it. Twice. And BOTH times, my order was denied, probably because I had just as it came up transferred the cash over to my debit card to buy it, and it didn't count it as sufficient funds. I seriously fought my way through all the server errors to score it twice over only to be denied twice after my order was in.

I'm really sort of crushed, I know it's just a BoC but a double denial after all that is just wrong!

I like the idea of finally only having one thread. We need to downvote any other to discourage multiples of the same question. Same goes with Jumbowoot coupon threads.

Dude, when you get the 503 error, you hit refresh (and click retry, if it pops up a dialog). You do this until it tells you that the bags are sold out or you get one. (I've hit F5 hundreds of times on previous bags.)

I got about ten 503 errors this time. (Fewest number ever... with the exception of the wootquest BoC.)

@baqui63: That's what I did. Kept getting either the 503 error or a blank white page. No luck at all!

First time my wife had a chance to try and get one herself. I was hoping she'd catch the BoC bug, but her response was "Too Hard".

I was able to get one, at least. I think that makes 15 total.

@lordebon: I have never had ANY luck using 6 tabs. I think that actually hurts your chances of getting through. Maybe 1 tab on different browsers is fine, but never more than 1 per browser.

I totally didn't think it went through since I was on the processing page FOREVER, but I checked in my account, and a bag of crap was in there :) I guess multiple tabs and browsers helps!

Think I missed this one as well, not too stressed though.

I"m wondering if my method is wrong. At the first 503 error I hit F5, then a pop up appears saying some info might be lost if reloaded. Then I got the order page again saying I'm missing my security #. I enter that and hit the gold button again, 503 error, repeat. So this time I hit the back button at one of the 503 error so I could input my security #. Didn't get a 503 but a page or server is down page.

Is there a trick to the F5 or is it just a "crap shoot"?

@cowboydann: When you see the 503, hit reload. its how I got through it... press buy, 503. hit reload, 503, hit reload, password screen came up. hit next, 503. hit reload, stupidly large button. hit button, 503. hit reload, 503. hit reload, "one moment while we get your order screen in" opened a second browser tab to try and order again, got the "you already ordered this" error.

I stare at woot for the past 48 hours waiting for a BOC to come up. I finally tell myself that I must shower. 10 minutes later, I come out of the shower to find them posted and sold out. Weak.

I wonder if there is a higher rate of success with PayPal vs credit card. The one and only one I got was via PayPal. Or perhaps my moon was in the right house or something like that.

@cowboydann: Why would more tabs (or more browsers) hurt your chances?

The servers are basically getting DDOSed by traffic. Each tab is effectively independent of each other. When one tab times out, F5 and watch the other tabs is what I do.

@meh3884 You just cant buy two on one account. She has her own account, and buys her own things. A completely unique wooter.

@gewoodworth The last few haven't been that impressive, but I've gotten more than my $8 of fun every time so I keep trying.

When you hit F5 and get the pop-up about resubmitting stuff, just click the retry button (if you don't, it will say you are missing required info, since you didn't resubmit it and the first submission didn't work since you got the 503 error).

People, you cannot get more than one Barrel of Creosote... you don't have to worry about multiple orders. Open two or three windows (though only one is needed) and watch the spinning widget thing... every time it stops or you get a 503 error, hit F5 (and click retry if prompted) and then watch for it to stop spinning... the only secret is tenacity... don't give up until you get an error stating that it is sold out.

@cowboydann: I do too...normally if I don't get one, okay no problem...but I was actually looking forward to the "new" ColonelCrap revision :)

I normally have two browser windows open (one running mywoot.net and the other with each of the woot sites and its community page in tabs).

The more tabs open, the more chances that one will get through. Even after I click the Info is correct button in one tab, I keep at it in the other one(s) until I either get a confirmation email or a sold out message or it shows up on My Account page.
